I set mine at 255F because 15 psi should be around 250F. So I give it a 5-degree buffer. It was actually easy to make but you have to have a 220/240 volt line to hook it up to. I used my dryer line to run it off of. but I can't dry cloths and run my PC at the same time. Because it is only a 30 amp line.

So hypothetically, if the pressure relief valve got stuck. It could maintain 250F but get above rated pressure. Wouldn't it still blow eventually.

Just trying to get my head around it.

As pressure increases temperature increases. This is why pressure cookers are used. 15 psi at sea level is 250°F .The reverse is also true as temperature increases pressure will increase. Without relief of some kind they are a possible bomb. Always make sure, especially with bags that can expand , that saftey and relief valves are never blocked.

These are for a presto 23 quart if you have a different one you will have to look them up for your model.

So this is what I did:

I attached 2 coins.
Pressure went up to 20psi, I had to manually lift the weight to bleed it a bit. Then I had to sit and switch between 3 and 4 and back every 12-14 min, acting as a controller.

So I still stand behind what I said:
This is dangerous, do not do it unless you want to act as a controller.

The only plus is that there is no noise.

This is quite simple not sure how it became a debate haha. The weight realeases steam above 15psi. Steam is water lol. You lose steam, you lose water. If you add a little weight TO your rocker, then your steam release threshold is now a few psi more, lets say 17 or 18. This does not mean you will get a false reading or will now be running at that psi. It will def prevent alot of water loss bc 15psi no longer vents. You just need to keep it at the sweet spot manually. Prettttty simple. Cool trick too Im gonna do that.

It's quite simple if you ignore density and internal energy differences between steam released at 15psi and steam released at 18psi.

How do you still not get it lol.

For fucks sake

You have a 5-10-15 weight. If you put the 15 pound on but run your PC at 10psi it won't make noise and will lose almost no water

We put a little weight on the rocker so we can run them at 15 psi with no noise or water loss but they'll vent at 17-19 psi.

Running at 15 with the 15 weight is fine too if you like some noise and more water loss

Nothing to do with needing a controller.

Here we go again.
Please elaborate how exactly will you run it at 15psi with little weight on the 15psi rocker?
Without controller.

And I hope you personally do not act as a controller by adjusting the heat?

Stove dial bro

Don't leave things on your stove unattended anyway...

I drew a mushroom next to the setting on my stove dial where its nearly set and forget though. Might need to barely touch the dial 3-4 times over two hours

Best investment I never made was a propane burner sitting in the garage.  That variable gas dial IS a controller!  If you can't add some weight to a 15psi weight and find a sweet spot with one of those you need to dial back your operation!!

Plus what little hissing there may be is now silently outside.

It is very simple you have to figure out where your stove will keep it at 15 psi without adjustments. Sounds like it will be about 3.5 on your stove even running is a little higher at 18 or 20 psi is fine but I would keep it as close to 15 psi as possible.

Or just build a hot plate as I did from an old stove from craigslist. Even if you have to buy the parts from amazon it will be like $50 for the PID and the burner. It will save you so much time it is well worth it!!

Ill run one presto on the stove. One on the kitchen floor and a 25x on the counter

Oh no monoxide. Propane burns clean if it gets air.
