Help with possible Gymnopilus luteoviridis?
    #26935206 - 09/14/20 01:17 PM (3 years, 4 months ago)

Habitat:
North America, East Rexas piney woods. Found three batches growing on dead oak and pine

Fairly bright yellow/light orange. Same but lighter colored gills. Gills attached at stem. Mostly flat or slightly concave at top.

Medium diameter and stem length. Bruises brown

Waiting on spore print but will update as soon as I have it.

Is the right time of year and was on a dead oak but doesn't bruise blue and I found the same species on what I am pretty sure was a dead pine. I'm brand new to this but really hoping to get lucky out here... Single dad, retired military, looking to microdose for PTSD. If things work out, I plan on growing my own psilocybin.

Also found two red colored ones...

One a very dark red, looks like velvet or red felt. Bright yellow pores rather than gills, fatter and shorter stem.

The other, lighter red, flat with white stem and gills with specs of white dots (in color only, not raised). White gills. White spore print.

Again, all found in East Texas today. Woods, very humid. If either of these sound familiar, lmk and I will post pics.

Thanks so much for all the help! Very awesome community I hope to become a more active part of!

Not gyms. I made the same mistake when I started hunting gyms. Those big clusters look tempting.
