That is definitely strange... It could be another fungal species that ended up landing some spores in your jar/syringe at some point.

I'd just let them grow and see what they turn into :tongue:

Your cubes on the other hand may or may not grow depending on whether this species is fighting with the mycelium over resources

That is cool and not cool. The one in the middle looks like it has formed a mushroom cap and has opened.  Kinda scary.  Maybe don't eat them...
