Hey everyone. Been messing around with some agar work and could use some advice.
I have three plates: 1. Mexican Dutch King second transfer from print 2. Space Coast print->syringe->agar 3. Golden Teacher Isolate LC test
Very random. But would love your input. I'll just post them for now and hear your thoughts. Thanks!!
Mex/Dutch

Space Coast

Golden Teacher Isolate LC test

I guess i better pose a question to get responses lol.
Where would you sector these out and how do they look?
I have been having a hard time getting good plates from prints.
The Space Coast one looks crazy and i dont even know where to start?
The Mex/Dutch King T2 still looks weak? Is that normal?
The GT Isolate LC test has some interesting growth so far. Where would you take a transfer from?

Ouch really. I thought the LC looked fairly clean?

LC is so weird looking until it gets a running start, try squirting just a drop in the center next time so you can watch it as it matures. I agree they don't look very good, I would not trust those syringes unless further testing yields better results.

Yeah the last one is the only one that looks like it’s got any myc at all but probably not salvageable.
Either your technique or your spores are not great. Was this syringe or streaking a print?

Your dishes are so transparent, what agar recipe do you use?

The mex/dutch is a t2 from a print and the Space Coast was a print->syringe->agar. This was done as straight streaking from print did not germinate after several attempts.
The LC was from a clean plate isolate of GT. I clearly messed up the agar transfer or didnt sterilze the 4% karo enough. This sport takes a lot of patience to get it right I am going to keep on moving with the help from all you guys . Thanks
BTW Jatzan, these simple PDYA carbon plates.
