How shall I word this...

It's complicated.
I've had a lot of sex (not a brag just facts) and I feel a bit let down by it. From what everyone made it out to be it sounded like heaven but when I did it I couldn't wait for it to be over. I hear people brag about making it go for hours and I can't wait for it to end. Is it me or does our culture oversell this point a lot?
I also struggle with trying to overcome my homosexuality mostly since it just gets in the way of making friends. I've already lost some friendships because my urges made things weird or swayed my behavior. Here I thought I was above being ruled by the D yet this is like some cosmic joke on me.

Maybe you are pan or asexual.
Very normal.
Sex is only good with the right people at the right time imo.

Your post answers your own question.
Those who are in denial of their true sexuality tend to have a lot of meaningless sex, in attempt to 'cure' undesirable feelings.
Self reflect and recognize, understand, and accept this part of you.
Once you are with the right person, despite gender, all of those rumors of amazing sex will come true.

Unless op is asexual.
Some people just dont like sex regardless of how they feel about their partner

When I researched asexuality I found that much of it did not apply to what I was feeling. So I’m not entirely sure what I feel. I do feel sexual attraction and desire but the act itself is tiresome or boring to me. I wasn’t in denial, it’s just that what was promised wasn’t delivered.
That and being gay makes it hard to interact with other guys.

I get it man. It was like that my first time Didn't have the passion or excitement i expected.
But after a few partners i realized it was just a lack of true, deep attraction.
At first i was just going through the motions and was disconnected from the act.
Was dissapointing. But then i learned i was just with that person out of scarcity, not from true connection.

I don't think I connect with people. I preferred the company of animals mostly.
But even with past boyfriends sex was always a thing I dreaded having to do.
