We dont wait before putting to fruiting conditions anymore. We do it from the start. So just put it to fruiting. It usually takes around 15 days to see pins.

I dont see why you cased it after it colonized. But just leave it now, probably need a few more days than two weeks because it had to expand again due to the addition of casing. Just introduce fruiting conditions and leave it be for a couple of weeks.

Doesn't this depend somewhat on the variety though? Reason I ask is every time i have attempted to grow Penis Envy if I fruit when i spawn all i ever get is blobs and I never actually get a proper flush of mushrooms..maybe one or two undersized but nothing resembling an actual flush. And that's including after the first flush.
I later researched this and many are saying with Penis Envy to a) Let the the substrate consolidate for a week or so after 100% colonization and or see primordia form and b) to always use a casing layer.

Yeah you are definitely right in that a few varieties are a bit special! I too have read that PE needs a casing layer or it will blob. Dont remember the part about consolidation before FAE but Ill keep it in mind from now on
