Found this in the woods in mid-SE-michigan.US. just made me remember my cultivating-cultivation here and good memories so i wondered if THIS was common? Or what it IS?

Habitat: Wild. Woods. Michigan United States. 73degress Fahrenheit. 6pm.
Gills: Nope. Non-existent. It's a ball almost. Like a big blob of mis-spent caulk?
Stem: Nope. Non-existent. Pinches off main blob mass into ground area.
Cap: It's nothing except cap!
Bruising: Doesn't appear to be bruise-prone.
Other information: Heavy. Dense. Has scarring. Like sores almost.

Could be calvatia gigantea
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Calvatia_gigantea
Still wait for a T.I though
If its a giant puffball, and its all white in the middle, it might be a tasty edible snack. People cut them in slices, add oil and grill them.

Sure looks like a puffball.
Cut it in half from top to bottom. If it's still in the edible stage, the inside will be white and without internal structures (like a stem, cap, and gills). If it's started changing color (yellowish, brownish, olive brown) then it's too mature to eat.
