I wanna upgrade to a '14 dodge truck with a 100,000 from a '04 with 225,000 for about $6,000. Course it needs some work, I should prolly work out how to get into the auctions like you said. They used to sell some nice tractors dirt cheap in Wisconsin. A man could make a living reselling those down south.

When I left Wisconsin it was so cold the salt wouldn't melt the road ice. The ponds didn't show water until I got to Kentucky and I said I never want to go further north than that. But, Man! they would sell farm equipment at those auctions for a penny a pound, for 10 gang plows or whatever.

for the most part, getting into the auctions would be dirt cheap if you had a little flat bed to tow shit around. you could probably rig a trailer for cars only - but a ton truck, youre need some heavy.
other wise, you can get into the world of hydraulics and tow shit around. you can get a shit boom bed on kijiji for like 1 grand but you gotta re-run all the lines and also youll have to have another boom or a wall jig to lift that to put on the truck. plus youll need to buy a hydraulic pump that'll fit your rig and chassis which is another grand.
On hydraulic pumps thoe, i got chu. You wanna make one off a power steer man, thats what i keep telling people. Hydraulic pumps are the same thing as a power steering units, essentially. you get a power steering pump from the scrap yard for 50$

I thumbed my nose at an expenses paid HVAC course in ST. Augustine Florida designed to maintain refrigeration on the shrimp boats. 40 years later I want to explore refrigerated produce containers for the small-time coastal trader markets.

nursing. i love it
I started back to school right before I turned 28
you can get your license after 4 semesters of school. many programs offer them back to back so that it only takes 15 months
there are some prerequisite courses you need in order to get in though- anatomy and physiology, microbiology, chemistry, nutrition, growth & development... so yeah, if you dont have those you gotta tack on another 2 semesters
it's a great job though

I think radiology would be a good area of expertise. How does that compare? They seem to get paid well and they get to miss out on a lot of the shit most people wouldn't want to do. I think it would be sweet just sitting around curating MRIs and CAT scans all day.

I wouldnt do it. I actually considered it first but my friend is a radiology tech and he reminded me that they have computers now that are capable of doing the job of a radiology tech and with even greater accuracy than a human. it hasn't been widely implemented yet but it probably will be over the next decade or so

That would be awful, to go through school for something like that and then you have to retrain down the line because of automation. Yikes.

U should learn how to weld, work on cars, or do plumbing if you want guaranteed return on your investment. I think degrees are kind of overrated unless you get an expensive engineering/science/math degree etc. not too many people are in it for a bachelors (or higher) in biology/engineering/science n math degrees you have to take calc II etc. and almost all associate degrees only qualify you for menial jobs barely above entry level anyway. Cleaning windows is ok money hard to get the customers but there’s no overhead you can almost start a window cleaning business as a broke college kid.
Nursing is probably the best career to get into for how quickly you can actually work and nurses will always be in demand. Probably a pretty demanding profession that can be draining sometimes tho, I could only imagine

I think everyone should try to work for themselves. Even if you fail. There's so many different ways to sell yourself and your time. It could be a hobby, just some money on the side, or something you're passionate about and want to take further. People waste so much money on random crap they don't need I think it's a blessing to take that and better yourself

I dont know how this goes in the US but here in the Netherlands the window cleaning business is run like some sort of organised crime thing
Certain families controlling neighborhoods and you dont want to start washing on someone else turf

I'm a cnc machinist in a union. I wouldn't recommend trying for that unless you are getting in the game as a very young man. I am not one of those people who say "its never too late to go to school" I have noticed a very serious problem learning new information the less plastic your brain becomes with age.
