Dried vs Fresh + Hot vs Cold? Citric vs Acetate (cacti tea)

Hi, I'm curious..
Which is considered better these days? I've read a bunch of teks, but they vary in time written by quite a lot..
Is boiling detrimental to the tea? Is simmering better? or maybe a CWE? If dealing with fresh cacti - Should one dry the cacti first in order to have a less messy/snotty tea? And also; Citric acid or Acetic acid to lower the PH?
Cheers, B5

Try this, Chop up as normal and freeze the cactus. When it defrosts most of the juice will come out saving time and effort boiling it. Do what you want with the juice and then dry the left over pulp and use as dried cactus.

Check this out:

Citric acid or vinegar.. it's up to you. Vinegar is more smelly, though.
Boil it, or simmer it, for long. Mescaline is soluble in hot water, cold water doesn't extract it well. Freezing and thawing takes longer than boiling. Just boil for 6 hours, strain, reduce, filter very well, drink.

It's definitely active, how could it not be, it comes from the cactus.
I have tried this tree times: 1) Dark green flesh blended. 2) Juice from defrosted cactus. 3) Boiled and strained juice (different cactus).
1 was ok. 2 made me trip balls (more cactus went in than 1). 3 wasn't that strong. I dried the left over flesh from 1 and 2 so nothing went to waste.Bb
The heating is just to extract, it can't possibly enhance the mescaline and it may diminish it (some debate on this).
I tried tar twice in the 90s and just got a sore stomach. I think the fact that it's not liquid makes it harder to throw it up on the purge and then you are stuck with a stomach ache.
All this is an inexact science because different cactuses went in and potency can vary as we all know. Long story short, I don't think it matters much how you prepare it, you just have to get it down somehow.
Mescaline is lovely though. Keep persisting.

What I have seen is that there are many different ways to successfully prepare the cactus. And people gravitate to the methods that make the most sense to them.
But if you're looking to make a strong tea, then the most important factors are to start out with good quality cactus and to use enough of it.
Tea is the tried and true method, and probably a good place to start from. Use good quality cuttings and use enough material to ensure a strong effect. If the cuttings are strong and fat then 18 inches should definitely be a powerful trip. But if the cuttings are skinny or weak genetics then it could take way more. Try to brew the tea for a really long time, 12 hours at least. And dont let it run out of water or char.

I asked that because I tried method 2 of yours and got medium (minus) effects. and because method 2 is without any heat so probably not all of the mescaline was extracted and thats why heat may be used.

This may be true but I will point out that my extraction was to freeze and defrost the chunks repeatedly. This mushes up the cell walls. There is also no possibility of degrading with heat. My trip using 2 was stronger than the trip using 1.
The left over solids will still be active though so I dried and saved those.
