The anemometer we used for hang gliding was reading 15 knots and we could go fly.

I'm curious what is considered the desired flow rate out from the flow hood?

Buy a quality anemometer so you can check your air speed and dial in your air flow properly.

Anemometer. Check.

So converting FPM to mph, I get 1.4 mph and .99 Knots.
Well heck pilgrim, couldn't even fly a kite with that thing...

I bought a $50 anemometer and it doesn't register a reading until like 180-200 FPM. It's basically useless for my purposes.

It had these specs:
Air Velocity: Range: 0 - 30m/s, 0 - 90km/h, 0 - 5860ft/min, 0 - 65mph, 0 - 55Knots

I imagine even one that costs a couple hundred may not be accurate enough but let us know.

I gave up on the anemometer and used a lighter flame. Yeah it isn't perfect but it's been working for a several years now.

If you can find an anemometer that is actually good enough to register super low reading (<100FPM) it's probably preferable but they are definitely gonna set you back some $$

edit: typo

I should just email airscience and ask them which one they use to check and certify their builds.

I confess, i went to make agar, meant to mix my ingredients in half the water then add the rest.

So i boiled it and poured it in my vessel and im like "what the fuck, that's only 200ml. So i added some water and grabbed the PC. And went to turn it on and found the rest of my water in a measuring cup

I confess, i just opened my pack of petris, got my agar out, shook around a bunch, poured one plate and realized it's way too hot.

So i closed everything and decided to wait. As soon as i was about to stand up an earwig fell from the top of my sab. Little bastard.i. gunna let him chill under the rack while i pour.

I haven't poured in over a year. Not quite like riding a bike. Was kindof a shitshow. Hopefully most of em turn out fine.  I definately overflowed one a littlr

I honestly prefer to go in hot. I get paranoid letting it cool off. No tams are gonna ride on my blade if it goes in red hot.

90fpm, +/-20.
So 70-110. All the TEKs say 100 because it makes the maths easy for diy.
