Paper muffin cups is basically what people in real labs do... that or little plastic boats. If you're just measuring the same stuff over and over again why not reuse them? Not like half a mg of residue is going to fuck up your next batch.
I use some little plastic containers that I get with takeout, the little sauce cups that some people use instead of petris.

I like to use a 2L beaker to weigh out LMEA and add water and mix. Keep it simple. I guess if that is too much for your scale then IDK, id get a better scale if it was me.
As for a confessional, I confess ive been using an underpowered blower on my flowhood for about a year and a half. Finally got my Dayton 1TDU2 and I've been taking my sweet ass time making a new and much improved LFH. I cant say i've had much issues with my current flowhood but still. The new LFH will be much better looking and then the underpowered blower will make for a nice 12x24 flowhood later.

Little Dixie cups or the red plastic solo cups that are shot glass sized work well too. That’s what I use to weigh agar and lme.

I wouldnt be so quick to add more power if youre not having issues now. I have one of those blowers on a 2x2' i built years ago. I didnt know it at the time but it was a lil too powerful. I now have a pre assemble flow cabinet that i bought from a company. The bought one doesnt feel like it moves as much air as my diy one but, the pre built one works a hell of a lot better.

I weigh my agar and the water in the same beaker. On the same scale. Then cover the beaker with foil and sterilize.

Translation: get a 24"x36" filter and make a bigger LFH.
Okay LotKid, will do. I was already leaning towards doing that so I'm glad we agree.

If someone is choosing to DIY their flow cabinet the best piece of advice i can give you is...
Buy a quality anemometer so you can check your air speed and dial in your air flow properly.

I bought a like $40 anemometer and it was useless for dialing in my hood. At the low flow rates we need, it just read it in fairly large static intervals. As in it would either read like 98.6 FPM or 112.3 FPM. Nothing in between. So I imagine it just rounded up or down to one of those numbers.
I mean it could've been accurate enough, but with that lack of sensitivity I didn't trust it. I can post the brand on here when I get home.
As far as I know, a hot wire anemometer is sufficient for the flow we need. But those are pricey
