Jinn

I met an entity in a dream last night that called itself Jinn. I was in a bathroom at work pissing in a urinal, I looked at the door and watched myself walk out of the bathroom. Both mine and my eyes met and we both seemed to react confused (other me seemed to mirror my confusion and astonishment before he/me left). Previously, on entering the bathroom there was what looked to be a young maybe asian kid standing in front of a mirror. After I finished pissing and got over the shock of seeing myself recognize myself in two places at once I washed my hands. The kid is in the mirror. I go for the door slowly, It opens only slightly then its immobile. I turn and he is there staring at me. Next to me. Eyes bleeding into me. They are dead eyes, sunken lake dead body cold eyes. I ask what he is. He responds "Jin". I repeated the question a few times eliciting the same response again and again.
I got stuck in a dream loop after that. I couldn't wake up. I thought I did numerous times, however he kept showing up. Again and again and again. Even in my bedroom. The following dream after the first I woke up in my bed with my family, I was shaking like I fell into an icy river. My wife awoke and asked if I was ok and I noticed my son was talking in his sleep. He was talking nonsense about a similar experience that I had had. Then it was there again. In my bedroom. Dead lake eyes. Bleeding cold into me. What the unholy fuck.
Needless to say... Sleeping last night fucking sucked.
I am gonna try to sleep tonight as I have to work in 6 hours.. But fuck.. I'm scared man. That thing chilled me to the bone. And it wouldn't go away.

That's creepy!
One thing that came to me, as I was reading the wikipedia page...
Quote:
According to Mirza Tahir Ahmad, references to jinn could also mean microorganisms such as bacteria and viruses
You were washing your hands in the dream, so maybe that's something?

He’s calling your family members demons and you should go on a spirit quest.
I’m reminded of the movie ‘the ring’ and ‘the grudge’.
What lifestyle do you live? I want to experience this.

I've had similar dream experiences in the past, with entities that I really did not wish to encounter and would like to never encounter again. I also have a lot of experience with the related phenomenon of sleep paralysis, which I've written about at the Shroomery quite a bit. It's really difficult to interpret these experiences.
I've lived in countries where people believe in jinns, which are like faeries and demons that are attracted by certain human behaviors or conditions. I think some Muslims believe that there are jinns literally everywhere, packed onto every surface.
One friend in a country where jinns are believed in, and where keeping one's house and space extremely clean is culturally considered a necessity, told me that she believed bad jinns had visited her dirty kitchen and rattled pots and pans and made a huge racket, frightening her family who woke up in the middle of the night to hear the inexplicable sounds. Her solution was to thoroughly clean the kitchen and the rest of the house and keep it that way.
I don't know if cleaning, or even do a cleansing ritual of some sort, e.g. with sage, is something that you'd actually find valuable for your peace of mind, but maybe it'd be good to do something symbolic to let your dreaming mind know you don't want to have these kinds of encounters. More practically, avoiding eating late in the evening, especially sugary foods and alcohol; and maybe drink some relaxing herbal tea or water with a small amount of a calming magnesium drink an hour or two before bed. And make sure you're getting enough bodily movement during the day - your body-mind will find other ways to expend energy if it's all pent up during the day, including by frightening you while you're trying to rest.
-------------------- “Strengthened by contemplation and study, I will not fear my passions like a coward. My body I will give to pleasures, to diversions that I’ve dreamed of, to the most daring erotic desires, to the lustful impulses of my blood, without any fear at all, for whenever I will— and I will have the will, strengthened as I’ll be with contemplation and study— at the crucial moments I’ll recover my spirit as was before: ascetic.”

Work weekends, drink too much, lots of kratom, microdosing shrooms quite a bit. I try to stay active. Lucid dream every now and then. Always have some weird project I am working on and I read everything I can get my hands on.
Edit: I also try to do my solid best to make people laugh and smile. World needs more good vibes.

That fourth paragraph holds a lot of very good advice for living in general. Thank you.

As an update: I have not seen it again, I have however been having more frequent incredibly realistic dreams that are very easy to remember.

Honestly, I did think that within 12 hours of the dream.
Mainly because it was funny. Not a big fan of Gin. Friends and family are though
