I'm sure your grain prep wasn't too bad, the rye looks hospitable from the looks of it lol. Tho I cant tell you how many different organisms are thriving in there. Your nose will tell you after a shake or when you open the lid.

I can see how they might appear to resemble Oats at a quick glance with all that flimsy looking growth that's somewhat charactersistic to oat jars :eatingout:

Hey im not looking for perfection lol.
Just wanted to experiment and see whatd grow. Science! Not too concerned about my grow space at this point.

This myc is acting real funny as it always kind of did even in the petris. Probably because it’s bacterial πŸ˜‚

Jars look like cobweb - had the same looking myc in one of my jars last year, looked like cube myc but grew way too quickly.

From the tubs it looks like that might be Trich mycelium, or some other type of mold.

I would keep a very close eye on this and toss it the second i see any colors.

Rodger! It does look fucking weird. I was thinking its because its vermiculite but fuck knows. Smelled like mad mushrooms to me.

Todays update

This is always what this myc did in the dish on the grain. Puff daddy lol

Theres a few signs of what i think is rhizo growth but a good portion of it looks like weird puff that i cant imagine pins would like. Very odd. No bad smell or colors yet. Can anyone see mushrooms coming off this? I keep thinking it might be because its vermiculite but idk. Spawned on 10/23. Im thinking too fast too thick of growth for only 6 days. This looks crazy lol

This other tub that I immediately cased when i spwned it the same day looks way more laid back. πŸ€·πŸ½β€β™‚οΈ

Not sure man, that looks so strange that I think you should keep em going and see what happens for science haha.

I've had success casing with just vermiculite but I found that to do more harm than good for cubensis since it introduces a pretty decent vector for contamination and isn't needed at all.

I would not throw that away if it smells mushrooms. Looks kind of wierd but "clean" at the same time so who knows, a mysterious mutant coming?
