the subway downtown is closed due to corona, but the one on the outskirts is still open and I dont drive, I wonder who was involved in that stupid decision, I had a coupon buy a 12 inch and a drink and get a second 12 inch for 99 cents but it expired this month so I never got to use it, I went to the downtown location and they were closed

And the "Subway Club" is total nonsense. Turkey, ham and fucking roast beef? I guess the turkey and ham technically makes it a club sandwich by some definitions, but it's fucking bullshit. Roast beef? How about some bacon, assholes.

People rave about McDonald's fries, but hardly anyone ever mentions Captain D's sweet and sour sauce.
It doesn't make sense.

There are still some Mr. Subs around. I haven't been to the one in my area in a long time. I could never remember if it was Mr. Sub or Subway that did the v-cut here, but I distinctly remember that it was one and not the other.

Maybe I've got old or something but Subway food doesn't taste good anymore. Leaves a nasty lingering aftertaste that lasts for hours. I'm sure it didn't used to be like that. I avoid it these days and spin the lucky wheel at the kebab shop rather. (1 out of every 100 lucky winners gets salmonella)

Ham is Canadian bacon.
"Canadian bacon" is a product name used in the US, and in some cases yes products sold as "Canadian bacon" there may be ham or some processed monstrosity along those lines. But back bacon and peameal bacon as eaten in Canada are pork loin, sometimes with some pork belly aka actual bacon attached in the case of back bacon. Ham is the back leg of the pig, different cut of meat from the belly or loin.
But supposedly (Wikipedia) ham and turkey counts as a club sandwich regardless. Albeit a disappointing one if you were expecting a club sandwich with bacon. A BLT with turkey or chicken. Is that so hard? Hell, throw in both the chicken and turkey and some ham too for all I care. But roast beef? There is no ingredient required for a club sandwich whose role it fills. Substituting ham for bacon is enough of a disappointment, but adding another random cold cut that is completely out of place just adds insult to injury. It's like Subway is saying "Whatever you thought was a club sandwich, fuck you."

Sounds like a bogus rumor. There might've been one case where a customer saw an employee weighing meat on a scale, and now this rumor is floating around that Quiznos uses dirty scales to weigh their meat.
Most...if not all restaurants portion out their meat on a scale before service. If they're doing things right, a piece of delicatessen paper is placed on the scale underneath the meat. Or they're cleaning the scale after using it.

Also subway has always been trash. Everything comes frozen in a bag. Might as well buy those 3 footlong subs from Walmart for 10 bucks.
Hey some frozen food is awesome

Sounds about right to me. I haven't seen a quiznos in over 10 years, but I was never too impressed when I ate there.

I ve always wanted to get a huge window decal of Jared (from subway!) with a caption that reads “Guess who’s back!!!”, to put onto subway stores.
Decorative gifts for subway.

Jimmy Johns is way better than subway but when they make the sandwich they don’t cut the bread all the way and all of your ingredients just fall out the side. Stupid

Around here there’s a sandwich place called “Wich Wich”. I’ve only eaten there twice but it was much better than Quiznos, Subway, & Jimmy Johns. I find that it’s much cheaper & way more delicious to make sandwiches at home; however, I’m currently on a carb/bread kick... so.... ...

Sometimes Subway gets pulled pork and I'll eat the shit out of that shit. They change it up almost every time so it's kind of a pork lottery but it can be hella on point. Swiss Chalet is utter garbage though. Appropriately, often attached to Harvey's...

The parent company of both restaurants also runs concession stands on trains.

the swiss chalets attached to harveys are express restaurants, they pretty much only have chicken dinners, I memorized a bunch of items off the full menu I saw online I wanted and then went to the swiss chalet attached to harveys in my town and they didnt have any of it, I ended up having to get a half chicken dinner, when I wanted ribs and some other stuff

In some cases it is actually a sit-down Swiss Chalet with wait staff and a full menu. The one like this in my area also has a limited Swiss Chalet Express type menu in the Harvey's part.

No spank you to ANY subway shit. https://www.cbsnews.com/news/at-subway-customers-really-arent-eating-as-fresh-as-they-think/ Let's start with the bread, which is baked in the stores, emitting a distinct and lingering odor even outside. The 9-grain wheat, white and sourdough varieties are made with goodies like sodium stearoyl lactylate and ammonium sulfate, which are used as a dough conditioners, and azodicarbonamide, a bleaching chemical most commonly employed in the production of foamed plastics. In the UK, azodicarbonamide has been classified as a substance that can cause asthma when used in an industrial setting. Yummy.
Then there's the meat. It's a processed concoction of actual meat and lots of water that's held together by things like modified food starch and soy protein concentrate, and then goosed with artificial flavorings. If it's chicken, or "oven roasted chicken strips", why does it need "chicken type flavor" made from autolyzed yeast extract and hyrolyzed corn gluten? One possible reason is that ingredients like autolyzed yeast extract and hydrolyzed soy protein are stand ins for that enormously effective flavor enhancer MSG (monosodium glutamate) since they also contain the glutamate that gives foods a burst of meaty flavor.
The reality is that this is the way most processed food is made these days, whether in the supermarket or restaurant chains. But advertising something as "fresh" carries the implication of it being wholesome and straight from the farm. It's possible to make mass produced food without lots of unpronounceable chemicals that at best offer no nutritional benefit (witness Pizza Hut's introduction of its Natural pizza and Chipotle's offerings), but it does often make food more expensive, though not by much. Consumers will ultimately have to decide if it's worth it.

and the meat to bread ratio is ridiculous, most of the calories are coming from the bread
The most caloric dense 6 inch sub has 63g meat on the sub, but a double quarter pounder with bacon has 170g meat
the bun on the 6 inch is 84g grams and the quarter pounder the bun is only 69g
and they are about the same price

Yep! My mate laughs at me when I make a sandwich and say "meat to bread ratio", lol! 35 years in the biz will do that to a person.
