Around here there’s a sandwich place called “Wich Wich”. I’ve only eaten there twice but it was much better than Quiznos, Subway, & Jimmy Johns. I find that it’s much cheaper & way more delicious to make sandwiches at home; however, I’m currently on a carb/bread kick... so.... ...

Sometimes Subway gets pulled pork and I'll eat the shit out of that shit. They change it up almost every time so it's kind of a pork lottery but it can be hella on point. Swiss Chalet is utter garbage though. Appropriately, often attached to Harvey's...

The parent company of both restaurants also runs concession stands on trains.

the swiss chalets attached to harveys are express restaurants, they pretty much only have chicken dinners, I memorized a bunch of items off the full menu I saw online I wanted and then went to the swiss chalet attached to harveys in my town and they didnt have any of it, I ended up having to get a half chicken dinner, when I wanted ribs and some other stuff

In some cases it is actually a sit-down Swiss Chalet with wait staff and a full menu. The one like this in my area also has a limited Swiss Chalet Express type menu in the Harvey's part.

No spank you to ANY subway shit. https://www.cbsnews.com/news/at-subway-customers-really-arent-eating-as-fresh-as-they-think/ Let's start with the bread, which is baked in the stores, emitting a distinct and lingering odor even outside. The 9-grain wheat, white and sourdough varieties are made with goodies like sodium stearoyl lactylate and ammonium sulfate, which are used as a dough conditioners, and azodicarbonamide, a bleaching chemical most commonly employed in the production of foamed plastics. In the UK, azodicarbonamide has been classified as a substance that can cause asthma when used in an industrial setting. Yummy.
Then there's the meat. It's a processed concoction of actual meat and lots of water that's held together by things like modified food starch and soy protein concentrate, and then goosed with artificial flavorings. If it's chicken, or "oven roasted chicken strips", why does it need "chicken type flavor" made from autolyzed yeast extract and hyrolyzed corn gluten? One possible reason is that ingredients like autolyzed yeast extract and hydrolyzed soy protein are stand ins for that enormously effective flavor enhancer MSG (monosodium glutamate) since they also contain the glutamate that gives foods a burst of meaty flavor.
The reality is that this is the way most processed food is made these days, whether in the supermarket or restaurant chains. But advertising something as "fresh" carries the implication of it being wholesome and straight from the farm. It's possible to make mass produced food without lots of unpronounceable chemicals that at best offer no nutritional benefit (witness Pizza Hut's introduction of its Natural pizza and Chipotle's offerings), but it does often make food more expensive, though not by much. Consumers will ultimately have to decide if it's worth it.

and the meat to bread ratio is ridiculous, most of the calories are coming from the bread
The most caloric dense 6 inch sub has 63g meat on the sub, but a double quarter pounder with bacon has 170g meat
the bun on the 6 inch is 84g grams and the quarter pounder the bun is only 69g
and they are about the same price

Yep! My mate laughs at me when I make a sandwich and say "meat to bread ratio", lol! 35 years in the biz will do that to a person.
