The trick with UVC is high wattage bulbs as close to items to be processed as possible. A dose at 6ft is 1/10 the dose at 1 ft from bulb. Nay sayers just haven't had the experience with UVC and don't understand the way to properly utilize them. Yes Gamma is better but for what we are doing, we do not have access to that tek. This is a great substitute if used properly as the above videos show.

I work with dangerous UV every day. Not for germicidal use but the suppliers mostly do business in that sector.

6000 watt bulb. My whole day is figuring out how many joules reach the surface of some substrate. They're so powerful that despite not being ozone producing bulbs specifically they still produce ozone in smaller amounts that requires quite a lot of ventilation
But I see all the research and white papers on germicidal UV. I'll be less sceptical when it's used for something critical without adjunct processes to achieve sterility.

I work with spawn on the daily. My whole day is producing clean spawn. UVC light is just one tool in the kit.

My flow cabinet has a uvc light on it that runs for 20 mins at a time. I give my plates a nice lil bath once they've cooled.

Do you prefer to wrap your plates with parafilm or saran wrap?

I see, thanks for the reply! Yeah, those are fairly priced and they look really nice in those pictures. That's a freaking awesome flow cabinet! Real professional stuff, I'm still in the growing out of a closet phase hehe, but your TEKs are pretty helpful since I mainly grow PE

Nice, nice. It's beautiful! Yeah, I'd like to work my way up to something like that eventually Although even for TCs a flow hood like that stands out as extra fancy

I know others that have bought pre built flow cabinets. I'm definetly not the only one.
I built a 2x2' that lasted me a few years and when the filter needed changing. I decided to upgrade. I didnt feel like building another one. And the cabinets @ Airscience are reasonably priced.
It makes producing a lot of spawn for local farms much easier.
