What is a film you hate but other people love?
    #26924041 - 09/08/20 02:41 AM (3 years, 4 months ago)

I FUCKING hate Donnie Darko……
I will never understand why it has such a cult following.

Its basically for hipsters that are too vapid minded to appreciate David lynch.
None of it has any basis in reality, yet its trying to be all edgy and thought provoking.

What's one you hate other people seem to love?

Titanic.

Harry Potter.

Just about every cliche Italian gangster movie.

Also I really like Donnie Darko. I never thought of it the way you're describing. It's got a cool spooky "vibe" to it and I like the soundtrack.

FUUUCK titanic, probably one of the most overrated love stories of all time.
Barely any of it is true or realistic, yet it is romanticized so much.

Elisabeth Shue in leaving las vegas.....

Now that is a realistic love story....

Lets talk about that old cunt that throws the diamond in the ocean at the end.... you bitch.... fuck you.... lol.....

"Super Troopers"
Agreed, being a scumbag stoner growing up, I always had that one friend that would quote that movie.

What exactly do you dislike about ET though?

It isn't easy to explain, partly due to me not watching it again since my childhood.  I remember it having a "thrown together" kind of quality and me not really understanding what the hype was about.

Another movie I would like to add to this list is Watchmen.  The opening scene and the visuals during the opening credits make it seem that you are about to have the cinematic experience of your life.  It was just "meh" and the most laughable sex scene on film.

Please note, my opinions on movies would be irrelevant to most, being that I am highly entertained by retro cinematic garbage.

Agreed 100%, totally anticlimactic.

We're not so different you and I

Anna nicole smith and pre CGI disaster movies are sweet

I agree Titanic is terrible. Slumdog Millionaire I wouldn't say I hate, but it definitely did not deserve the credit it got.

I also really disliked Inglorious Basterds, and in general think Tarantino is overrated albeit talented at crafting a scene, for me his movies ultimately fall flat.

Watchmen is another one, the book is amazing but Snyder is absolutely too feeble minded of a director to grasp what made it good, and he completely messes up the point of the story imo
