A professor has been placed on leave for using a Chinese expression that offended some students because it sounds like an English word that offends them. Should anything be done about this?

The PC movement has gotten out of control.
-------------------- I am in a minority on the shroomery, as I frequently defend the opposing side when they have a point about something or when my side make believes something about them. I also attack my side if I think they're wrong. People here get very confused by that and think it means I prefer the other side.

Hahaha. "Harming their mental health." God, college is bringing up the biggest pussies in the world these days. Hard to tell how much is actually people being offended and how much of it is just people seeing how far they can push it. Like that time that professor was speaking to his class about, I think it was about the "day without whites" or something, and he was using his hands as he spoke and some of the class implied that speaking with your hands is racist, so he put them down and they just started laughing at him.

There should be something done against activism against a professor which correctly pronounced a common chinese utterance that sounds inappropriate in the US.
It is IMPORTANT for POC and other people to know that Chinese people talking Chinese around them arent nonstop throwing N-bombs but are using an innocuous standard Chinese utterance.
He was teaching something valuable.

People, who try to fire him from his tutoring work place, act like robots. Human beings should be more human like, don't you think? Nowadays it's pretty easy to learn languages, isn't it? I mean there are dozens of resources with online learning, but if I would choose any of those, I would choose Preply with it's Chinese tutor section, if we already talking about Chinese language learning process.
