Colonized all in one grow bag, make it a monotub?

Greetings everyone! Before being smart and reading up on here I purchased an all-in-one grow bag to start my mushroom growing journey, that bag is way colonized and it's definitely ready to fruit it already has pins forming in the bag. Would I be able to break it apart still at this point and then apply a top layer of substrate to make this a monotub? Or should I just proof the big 5 lb block as is? I have some manure-based substrate that I ordered not a whole lot left would only be a thin layer on top or I could also go and get coir ASAP instead also. just looking for advice on what would be the best route. I'm so glad I wisened up and became a member here! I've learned so much already that will help make me much more efficient and wiser on my journey! Thanks for any advice!

Do a mono. I personally skipped kits and brf cakes to sgfc. Went straight bulk haven't looked back since. Get some coir and a bucket and fruit that bad boy. 5lbs of spawn 66qt mono you can do the blue handle one with the no drill tek and your all set for 4+dry oz. Happy tripping!

Awesome news thank you for the help, it won't have any negative effects from being so completely colonized/starting to fruit?

I think you will be fine. you can break it up and mix it with coir, put a layer of coir over it. give it a heavy misting, put lid on and let it do its job. Should have pins in 15 days.
Btw, do you have a picture? how much pins does it have?

I have been wondering about the all-in-one bags too - they seem too good to be true. But good to hear that even if I start in that, I can transfer without damage (potentially).

Not a ton of pins the local hardware store didn't have coir I'm going to have to make a trip to the city tomorrow if they don't have it I'll have to order offline, I feel like I'm definitely going to make multiple tubes one big and a few small.

Something wrong with your images, they wont be enlarged and stay as thumb. But that does not look good from what I can see. Looks heavily bacterial and contaminated. Please upload better images. It makes sense for it to pin inside the bags if its containated, the mycs last effort to save itself.

I'll try to link one at a time. it definitely could have some bacterial contaminment it's been colonizing for way too long I don't think it necessarily does though I think it's just way colonized in spots and I did not break it up and mix very much as I should have (was trying to be way too gentle 🤦🏼♂️) I will upload some more pics of it out of the bag soon. It was just some learning pains to go through on this poor bag lol. my first mono tub is looking really good though. It didn't have any contamination issues despite my amateurism lol it just finished its first flush 445gs and I soaked it for 2 hours earlier for round 2!

I've got a 45 and 30 quart tub both ready to rock I think the 5 lb would cover both of them? How much coir for those sizes?

Hello, I am new to the forum, this is my first post! I am in this same scenario of planning to do a monotub while I bought 2 all in one 5lb spawn bags with rye and compost mushroom grow kit. At which point is it best to transfer the contents from the grow bag to the tub? Will I need to purchase Substrate to add in the mix in order to go to a tub?
Thank you!
