everyone freaks out at me because i look like i'm 20 apparently despite being 35. i've never drank a drop or done cigs. i'm not saying correlation = causation or anything, buuuuuut....
interestingly, the same went for my parents too until i left the house - they looked pretty dang young for their age, especially my mom, who people often mistook for my older sister (she usually got mistaken for her mid 20 to low 30s despite being in her mid 50s - she dyed her grey hairs and that was about it other than the typical female skin care products.)
i noticed that she looks a lot closer to her age now that i've left the house, and that they've take up social drinking. again, correlation, but i find it interesting that soon after they started taking up drinking the occasional glass of wine and (very very occasional) cigarette smoking, both of them started showing notable wrinkles and other signs of age. they both definitely look like their in their 50s now, if a fairly youngish 50s. it was kind of shocking to me, since it happened within the space of only a few years.
ironically, if anything i might be looking a bit younger due the weight loss i've had. that or i'm possibly vampirically sucking the years off them. ';.;' (j/k)
drinking is just hard on the body. i don't care what "science" says about the occasional glass of wine being good for your heart. eat some damn red grapes. same benefits, none of the downsides. (and get plenty of rest. drinking is very, very bad on a good nights sleep, and that's always bad for your health.)

I'm in my early 30s and get carded for booze all the time despite having been a very heavy drinker in previous years. i still drink a good amount, like 5-5-7 standard drinks, once a week or so. can still pass for 20

lol, that's because there's hefty penalties for making a mistake, just saying. ;p to the cashier, personally. as in, we're the ones who have to pay the fine. we have a vested interest in not making a mistake. (also a lot of stores require carding anyone who looks 30 years old or younger, or even 40 years old or younger, etc.)
just saying that it's not exactly conclusive proof there.
i literally have people mistake me for a high schooler though. as in, they ask what high school i go to. or freak out when they find out when i'm older than most of my coworkers lol. it's pretty funny. the oldest people ever think i am is like 24, and most think it's around 19-20. XD
