Pressure cooker not sealing properly
    #26921510 - 09/06/20 04:20 PM (3 years, 5 months ago)

i have an AA 75x. The lid was not sealing properly on my last run, and some steam was coming out from under the lid of my PC.
I realized afterwards there was build up on the lid and PC.

Would these bags all get contaminated because the PC was not sealed air tight?

If your pc does not reach 15 psi and 121 celcius your bags won't be sterilized proberbly.
So yes, they are highly likely to be contaminated.

I've just had this problem myself with my AA 921 and I solved it by putting a bit of olive oil on the rim of the lid and pot.
Has been tight ever since.

Petroleum jelly is what the instructions recommend. It had no problems reaching over 15PSI, so the leak was very minimal.

Yeah I didn't have that in hand but it worked like a charm for me.

You're probably fine if the pressure was 15psi under the leak. As long as you didn't got under the 121 degrees for the full cycle.

Mine looked like this, and the pressure fell to about 10 psi during the cycle.
