Is the government going to pay for their rent, food, gas, car payments, clothes and everything else they need 12 months from now? Are these people going to have exactly what they had before the shutdown? The answer is NO! Destroying millions of lives to save thousands is fucking stupid! I seriously wish people like you would fall off the face of the earth. You're selfish, want to tell other people what to do and care nothing about freedom. Shutting down businesses and forcing people to stay home is fucked up! I wish we had some type of war against the radical left and destroyed you. God I hate you people ...
You're obviously very emotional about this subject matter and ignorant to the fact that most Western nations have already implemented long term employment, housing, rent, food and other relief programs for this pandemic. Guess what? It's working for the people better than the non-sense taking place in the US today.
BTW, why should most Americans even need so much relief during a pandemic, shouldn't they already have enough resources and savings to be just fine? Nope, most working class people are broke due to the economic policies of the people you admire for some strange reason.
Why is Wall Street making new highs during an economic depression? Because they got FINANCIAL RELIEF ($5 trillion so far) from the GOVERNMENT. Who's going to pay for it???
I don't mean to sound rude, but you don't even understand what's even taking place economically in the US today. Why don't you start learning and stop ranting about inflicting pain on people that know about this subject matter much more than you do?

Yeah, no one said they were the brightest of people. This article made me laugh. ABANDON SHIP! Amazing video as well. All those flags going to waste and people jumping off. What is a wake?
A wake is the waves caused by displacement of water by boats. You know that V-shaped wave coming from the back of every boats you've ever seen (that wasn;t up on a plane-when they skim above the water)? That's a wake.
It’s not just the one wake. One wake isn’t going to sink a boat. The problem is that waves interact, and the amplitude of two or more waves add up. When two three foot waves meet each other, you get an instantaneous six foot crest where they meet. When you have dozens of boats in all directions, you end up with total chaos.

Depends on the bow design. As soon as a wave washes over the bow of a boat that's moving forward, that boat is done. That's why boats always have taller bows, and even then, usually have secondary wavebreaks on top of the bow (for motorboats, this often doubles as a windshield). Outside of very specific design choices (sealed buoyant compartments in the bow) which are not common outside of boats designed for either racing or the ocean, a wave that goes over the bow of a boat will sink it. If a boat is riding low, due to, for example, a bunch of people and flags, that wave doesn't need to be very big. That's why higher-end racers that have very low profile hull designs, like lasers, are generally one giant airbag.

I think nearly all boats made in the last 30 years have too much mandated flotation foam to sink. They fill up with water but don't sink. I'm not sure about really big boats.
I was in a boat that capsized on the second biggest lake in Wisconsin. My friend had customized the boat, building some decking in the front which added weight. Some minnows got stuck in the bilge pump, but we were too drunk and high to notice until it was too late. You're supposed to remain calm and paddle with your hands, but we panicked a bit and turned it over.

my dad's buddy sunk our skiff once. He had been using it to get back and forth from in the marina (he lived on a boat). left it tied off to the swim step during a big storm. The thing is full of foam and not supposed to sink but the big boat came down on top of the little skiff and pushed it far enough under to sink it. Made him winch it off the bottom. lost the motor but still have the skiff.

I didn't think that could happen. Seems like the foam must have been defective. In any case, seeing is believing.

Many people put no value in saving money. They put more value in other things . . .
To blame this on government is hilarious. But a common tactic. Blame it on government.

So when real wages declines for 40 years and the top 1% makes 100%'s more, who should we blame?
When wages as a percentage of national income declines for 40 years, who should we blame?
So yes, if the government didn't purposely fuck over the middle class and they still didn't have any savings, I could take your position. But that didn't happen, did it?

I'd blame the rich people that are actively engaged in regulatory capture.
In other words, republicans. And some democrats.
