Went to bid a job yesterday and as I'm walking back up this steep ass hill I trip and stumble a little and noticed this weird patch of black goopy shit and some busted up nasty looking mushrooms when the smell hits me.

So im half shitting myself when I spot 3 or 4 little freshies. Im super surprised at how insanely well they were hidden.

So I spread some more grass and find another little cluster. Okay, is this real??

Walk a bit over and spread some more random grass, and holy shit there more right?

Im getting a little on edge cause the customer is home, literally 4 minutes earlier we were walking the lot and going over plans, so I snatch what I can and do a cursory glance over the rest of the yard on the way back to the truck and this guys yard is quite literally flooded with them. I legit cant believe how hidden they all were...makes me really question how many ive trampled and just completely missed!!

Lined em all and took a little family shot and a few other pics to show some of the weird fruits

I really like this style of fruit for some reason. These guys look so unique to me and it seems like theres no chance at misidentifying them!

Just another cool lookin fruit!

And this dude with a sweet lil abort!

These things are so crazy. Put in so many hours busting ass and am on the verge of just putting in way less effort and now its like I cant NOT find the little fuckers:shitstorm:

Sweet!  Once they find you, they don’t stop coming!  Amazing really.  There’s this YT video of someone playing a 4 min song all while they are recording all the grass weillii they are finding.  Like hundreds of em.  Looks just like grass thickness like that.  Everyone should check it out.

^ I remember watching videos of weilii in my yard (aka wimy) walking his trail picking weilii back in the day. Really inspirational.

Awesome video.  Some weekend plans fell through so I think I'm going to plan a hike for tomorrow and/or Monday.  If you guys were going to optimize your chances of coming across any treasure on a hike, what county would you shoot for rn?  DM me if you know of any specific spots or trails we could try, and apologies in advance if this isn't proper thread etiquette.  We don't know wtf we're doing, but I'm sure as hell enjoying this thread lately, wow.  :jonstewarteatingpopcorngif:

That's the video nitro was talking about. I don't think that one's wimy. Crazy find and good song though. Wimy's videos are still on youtube though. Just search weiliiinmyyard.

I just watched a couple of them. I hear him pronouncing them "wiley eye" and "kay-rule-essens". So have I been wrong just calling them "wiley" and "care-ule-essens"?

Then again I heard we're supposed to pronounce psilocybe as "sill-oss-o-bee" according to Staments. I refuse lol

kay-rule-essens. Would be the right pronouncation.  They thought it was a different spieces, when first found  Which is where weillii came from. Just different phenotypes. Of the same mushroom.
