I’ve been hunting for 10+ years and they’d leap to the front of my most interesting things ever found. Real fucking cool

Stopped by the patch. Just way too dry now 🙁 I saw this same patch a month AGo walked right by it noticed it but there were too many people with me that were in a hurry to stop if I had to estimate I would say there were probably a good 70 to 100. For now I've got to wait for more rain. How long would something like this specific mushrooms lifespan be from pin, to mature , is it worth going and checking the patch first thing in the morning while there's still plenty of dew on the grass or should I wait a couple days and hope for rain?

wait a day or 2 and pray for rain. Maybe send a PM to Allan and see if he would be interested in them or maybe give some insight on what they are. Just document as much as you can on them.

What makes this so interesting ? It's not the first mushroom I've overlooked of this type because alot of people have said they don't grow in Kansas what makes Kansas have the reputation of not having actives? Lack of documentation? Lack of research ?

Alan Rockefeller is an esteemed mycologist and a member here on shroomery.

They are interesting because they are showing blue bruising very heavily. And the fact Pan. cyans havent been documented in your state. Or the fact it could be an undescribed spieces in the Psilocybe geneus. Its probably due to the lack of hunters and/or documentation of the spieces in the state

It definitely looks like a Panaeolus to me. Pan bisporus maybe?

Its possible, yes. Only way to distinguish beyween the 2 would be microscopic differences in the basidia is 2 spored in bisporus. Hints the name

I am currently studying the Genus Panaeolus, would you be willing to send me one or two for study? This is an interesting find for your location and should be documented.

Guys it occurs to me that I studied habitats familiarized myself with enough features, to look back on all the areas I've explored in the past 2 or 3 years and tell you there are definitely more . I do plan on getting these dried remains into the right hands I'm open to any suggestions on how to proceed . I'll keep wondering all the best habits I can find. Maybe science could have something to gain or least create more data to be studied. Can someone give me a brief description of how the process would go so I can prepare myself accordingly and maybe not f*** this up

Those caps have a banding design, that might rule out panaeolus cyanascens.

Spore print , the dark spot on the smaller cap is from the drop of water.

I agree those look like Pan Cincts, the spores are so black.
