Rustica

Idk how much traffic this place gets but hopefully you hippies know a thing or two about nicotiana rustica.
What's the best way to cure it for snuff? will uncured leaves work ok for rustica snuff? will potency differ at all between the two?
How should I basify the snuff? does anyone have a recipe? I dont really want to use ash like traditional rapé. I'd rather use a propper base but I'm open to hearing your suggestions.
Just want to see if growing it would be practical.

don't use uncured tobacco of any kind as a general rule, its dangerous. you want to sweat them real good to get rid of most of the nicotine and nasty stuff and convert the sugars. bundle leaves and hang somewhere hot and humid. bleaching them in the sun is good for smoking tobacco, smoking them in a smokehouse is good for chew/snuff/pipe tobacco/cigars. keep them above 100.F for like two weeks, rotating the bundles so the leaves on the inside get on the outside every day. you want them to dry slowly over the coarse of that time and ferment. when its almost dry but still flexible and has a dark golden reddish brown color it should start smelling like tobacco-ish raisins/chocolate/coffee jar it up and let it sit for a few more weeks burping it once in a while.
not sure about how to "basify" it. up north they mix it with the ashes of a birch conk and say its hallucinogenic. the heavy metals in the ash are thought to speed up the absorption of nicotine

the purpose of the ash is to raise the PH to convert all of the nicotine to freebase nicotine which has a higher bio availability than nicotine salts. The natives used ash back in the day.

I dont chew. Doesn't do it for me. I only smoke or snuff. For me chewing is like when you cum but fuck it up at the last second or get distracted and you get the release but no intense pleasure. super frustrating. it just makes me have to wait longer before I can get satisfied by smoking or snuffing. excuse my graphic example.
plus I hate the feel of nicotine in my mouth.

Yeah. You dont snort it like one would snort cocaine or something. you just inhale normally through the nose and coat the inside with a bit of snuff. it shouldnt go past the bridge of the nose, its nasty if it hits the back of your throat.

I've only ever snuffed rustica. I smoke poppers (tobacco and weed in a bong) so I new I needed something that would give a good rush. Rustica snuff works really well. I'm pretty sure its just straight unbasified rustica flour though because its mostly sold for mixing with other snuffs to give a bigger kick. I bet if I added some sodium carbonate it would be even stronger.
For anyone who wants to switch to smokeless tobacco but cant get off on dip or snus, I suggest trying some snuff.
