FLOWER POT CONTAM TEK
Hey all, I've been browsing the forms for awhile and have noticed lots of discussion about growing in flower pots but i've never really seen any write ups about it so I decided to give it a shot. I'd like to share a method that seems to have worked well and attempt to ask the community questions on improvements that could be made. Recently a friend of my dog’s has been having success with their flowerpot tek. The idea is to take jars (in this case wbs) that are partially or fully colonized, but are not clean enough for bulk teks, and fruiting them indoors in flowerpots. The bottom quarter to a third of the flowerpot is filled with normal potting soil. Then the contaminated/shot spawn is broken up and added. The next layer is a thin mix of store bought cpoo and hay. Stir up the top layer with the spawn layer a little and fill with water, let it sit for a little moment and pour out the water. Let the pot sit somewhere exposed to natural light, however it must be away from other mycology stuff because it could spread contam. Outside could be good but you run the risk of animals getting into the grain. After the spawn begins to colonize the top layer (This should take about a week or so), start misting a few times a day or whenever it looks dry. Soon you will have pins. My dogs friend had lots of side pins. Now I would like to ask everyone for their thoughts on a few details. I am guessing that the side pins are forming because of increased humidity in the small gap between the sub and the pot. If someone were to place the sub in a plastic bag and then place that in the pot, would there be better or worse results? Also if someone were to cover the top of the pot with plastic wrap or something after laying the pot, would that make it colonize faster? Is there a way to prevent animals from getting into it outside? Will this method spread significant contamination throughout the building? It just seems too good to be true that you could use lower quality spawn in substrate that hasn't been sterilized/pasteurized with such great results. I would love to hear what you all have to say!

Potting soil. Quart jar of spawn throwin in the bottom and sides.
This was just in a garden getting watered as regular plants get watered.
-------------------- But if you're in a hurry, and really got to go If you're in a hurry, might have to find out slow That it's one thing to try and another to fly You get there quicker just a step at a time It's one thing to bark, another to bite The show ain't over till you pack up at night

Awesome members use proper grammar and punctuation, and paragraph their post every few lines with an empty line. We have members of many nationalities for whom English is not their first language, so be clear. More than a few of our members will read your post while high, tired, stoned or otherwise concentration impaired, and experience teaches us that unparagraphed posts will not be read by most.
It's all good since you only have a few posts but make sure to add spacing to your post next time
