Hey guys! So I inocculated 18 bags with with spore syringes of 2 sources. A controlled test if you will. 9 bags from spores101 ( yes I see a lot of people on here dont recomend them, but i know that now!) and 9 bags from a secondary vender. Anyways long story short.. 20 days after inocculation spores101 has no activity (2 moldy bags and 7 not active) while all 9 bags from the secondary vender look fantastic. My question is this; can i reinoculate the 7 bags because i know it was the spores and not my tech? Or is it too risky at this point for contams? Thanks for any insights!

I say you can try if you want but your risk of getting contammed out at this point is well into the 90's. If you have a lot of MSS burning a hole in your pocket then sure, otherwise don't waste your time.

I agree. Chances are slim to none on a re-inoculation especially with MS syringe.

Ive inoculated 1 BRF jar as a test. I poked it through the micropore tape and promptly put more tape over the hole and it worked without contamination. Now that is just 1 time so i don't know if that would work every time.

You would be killing the mycellium. Are you doing that because of mold? Wouldnt want dead mold in my substrate. But in theory i think that would work. But why not just use new substrate?

You could technically re-sterilize them. However, that will dry them out more than likely.
