Flowhood help (been at this for a while)

Hello all,
Need your help
We are looking for an interim solution until our industrial flowhood arrives in a couple of months.
I have been searching high and low for a HEPA/blower combo in Canada and its more of a challenge than anticipated. Matching the filter SP to the blower CFM isnt as easy as it sounds.
We are looking for a 24"x 48" filter with minimal depth and a matching blower. It seems we have to look outside of Canada which is fine.
Can anyone help with a current set up that is readily available (preferably in Canada, but US is ok)?
Thanks a bunch!!!

I just sourced stuff for an american build I am doing this week.
This is the blower I just received to go along with this 24 x 48" filter.

Thanks Funky Monkey. We have that supplier here too. I actually looked at that combo but the SP on the filter is 1.5 and the blower is 1.25. Will this work?

I contacted the manufacturer directly, it's a SP of 1.0.
As for the blower it is a variable speed and has four settings and it has more than enough juice to get 800 cfm for the size of the filter pretty easily even at one of the lowest settings. I feel it's better to have a little too much blower than barely enough, keep the workload easy for the blowers life span, and I can crank it a little higher to scrub the air of my clean room faster/better if I feel the need and then I can set it back down to the speed for laminar flow 🙃

https://www.grainger.com/mobile/product/FANTECH-Galvanized-Steel-Inline-Centrifugal-6XZ77?breadcrumbCatId=3587&fc=MWP2IDP2PCP - this one is pretty strong but may be a tad big, will be good with two high MERV pre-filters. I’ve seen some flowhood cabinets with inline fans, I was considering one of these. But your best bet is American companies. Also check out www.spycor.com and email them, or call, and see if they can get a Glasfloss filter. That’s what I did and they put it up on the site for me to buy. The Glasfloss was much less expensive vs Koch, and the customer service at Koch sucks ass. You can get a metal frame for close to the same cost but I bet you can get wood if desired: https://www.spycor.com/99-99-HEPA-Filter-Metal-Frame-24-x-48-x-5-7-8-p/maggb2448a6ax.htm. They have amazing customer service as well, plus Koch told me 5 weeks, Glasfloss 2-4 weeks much better. Also that filter starts at 0.79 wg unless you go high capacity. Call them and double check or can check data sheets on Glasfloss website. Also you can check www.zoro.com they carry a lot of the same blowers but sometimes at a lower cost. I had mine shipped in a few days.

dothedew69, what blower did you end up matching to the Glasfloss filter?

I ended up with a Dayton 1TDT8 but that’s only because I kept with the smaller build, 24x18x6. I was thinking of building something too complex that basically would have been no better than a hepa and pre-filter that’s why I was only looking at the big guys lol. Grainger has amazing customer support, you can call ask for tech support and as long as you have filter data they can tell you if a chosen blower will work. The one guy I had redirected me to a different blower that worked best for me. Good people, definitely give them a call because they may know something we may be missing. I’m frugal but a customer service junkie, good customer service will always get my money. Well my experiences were more exceptional.

Not a problem and good luck! I did a ton of searching before my purchase and a lot of reading, as far as I know those were the best solutions I could come up with.
