The chanterelle patch grew this year * 1
    #26915368 - 09/03/20 10:58 AM (3 years, 4 months ago)

sorry for the low quality pics, my camera is cheap, but the patch I found like 7 years ago only gave me like 5-7 mushrooms every year, this year I got 16 good ones and there was another 10 already starting to decay so it like tripled in size in one year, Im having mushrooms with my eggs tonight, I even found a lobster mushroom near by, I never tried one of those before, anyone know anything about cooking lobster mushrooms?

bump, can I just slice the lobster thin so it frys up with the chanterelles, or will it take longer to cook and I should fry it seperatly? I tried to query it but the search engine told me to sear it on the stove and bake for 15 minutes

We’ve had so much rain this year the chants have gone crazy. Multiple different types and black trumpets. Made soup last week

HEre in the southeast USA we've had tons of rain. Lots of chanterelles.

By the truckload. Entire forest floors painted golden orange.

ALso tons of other mushrooms. I can't wait to find some hens of the woods and lions mane this fall. WOOT!

you got me excited to go hunting.

SO basically I dry them and grind them into powder with select spices(and SALT to preserve) and use it to season basically everything.

Making mushroom salt is an awesome way to enjoy a heavy harvest.

JUt make sure to dry the chanterelles bone dry with a desiccant before grinding and store in a glass spice jar.

basically I use about 75% MUSHROOMS and 25% pink sea salt(himalayan) and whatever other spices

Some of the mushroom salt recipes on the internet call for WAY TOO MUCH salt.
