Problem with BRF after PC
    #26913571 - 09/02/20 11:13 AM (3 years, 5 months ago)

No sure what happened to my BRF, but when they came out of the pressure cooker they had shrunk quite a bit. I did have tin foil on the jars during the PC. I followed this TEK https://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/24179086 and it seemed like my BRF wasn't quite at filed capacity, so I added a little bit of water. But now I'm thinking maybe I had way too much water?

When I opened one of the jars up, the "dry verm" layer was damp and the BRF mixture at the bottom was soaked and very very compact. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Yeah it's just soaked AF.  Make potato soup out of those bad boys.  Start over,  prep EXACTLY to recipe 2:1:1 verm:h20:brf, fill loosely with mix to the first thread of the jar,  and gently top with dry verm layer (~ 1/2-3/4").  Make sure you elevate those jars above the water level too so they don't get inundated with water during PC cycle.  Stick to the ratio above and don't pack your jars at all but fill up properly.  They won't shrink.  It might look dry when you're done but I promise you there's more than enough water in there.

Field capacity is ready to go you can't add water hoping to make it better you can't get it right by pouring water I mean.  Also if using a PC why not use grains?
