The Blind Ass Appreciation Thread.

In line with the tradition of appreciation I'd like to give mine to The Blind Ass.
The Blind Ass is all but blind, someone that can impress deeply upon the organism, someone refined, and changing. Someone who helps to light a fire in being an insightful thinker, someone who tries to impart wisdom, to instil knowledge in those who contemplate its mysteries.
A pot of mental fermentation, whose manly knees don't get weak.
Quote:
After his service in the war, Socrates devoted himself to his favourite pastime: the pursuit of truth.
His reputation as a philosopher, literally meaning 'a lover of wisdom', soon spread all over Athens and beyond. When told that the Oracle of Delphi had revealed to one of his friends that Socrates was the wisest man in Athens, he responded not by boasting or celebrating, but by trying to prove the Oracle wrong.
So Socrates decided he would try and find out if anyone knew what was truly worthwhile in life, because anyone who knew that would surely be wiser than him. He set about questioning everyone he could find, but no one could give him a satisfactory answer. Instead they all pretended to know something they clearly did not.
Finally he realized the Oracle might be right after all. He was the wisest man in Athens because he alone was prepared to admit his own ignorance rather than pretend to know something he did not.

Socrates, in pointing out his own ignorance, highlights the ignorance of all men.
I guess this casts Blind Ass's persona in a new light. A light that shines upon the foibles we all share before the hemlock closes the show for the night.
then a new day arises.

Even little things like this thread can help make a person smile. It’s a good tradition bc it brings about good into the world - ie, sharing happiness.
Thank you all. To me, you are each like a bodhisatta manifestation, who in their great wisdom & compassion - & through skillful means - help emancipate me from the sinful karma & deluded views built up over lifetime(s) of conditioning (due to primal ignorance). Many thanks for helping in that regard.
Big ups to those with big deep minds.
Much love...to all beings.

While I have not been to an AA or AAA meeting, I think we are getting down in that way a bit.

I wonder if those meetings would be necessary if humanity were accepting, understanding, and supportive of one another in general. Maybe the AA approach needs to be more mainstream

imagine a world where you didn't need to feel shamed enough about a problem that you needed anonymity to get help.
