Hello. Some vendor in my country sent me this picture from his collection. I dont know the price yet and for what size but I guess its not that expensive. What do you think? I guess that the 4 ribs doesnt mean it is a rare variety but a rare growth, but does anyone identify the variety? is it potent?
 thanks!

Naming is so muddy that it if the vendor doesn't know what it's name is, if it even had one, that it will probably not be known. It looks like typical Achuma cactus (stereotypical Bridgesii). The four ribbed, needle like thorns Bridgesii pops up a lot and its usually just called "Achuma / Achuma cactus". Yes, it's active.
The closest cultivar in appearance that I know of is Bridgesii Moses, but it's still different enough to not be mistaken easily. Moses and generic Achuma/Bridgesii are two cultivars that can produce four ribs but it may change count around depending on the season. I have two bridgesiis that wanted to play with four ribs, one changed to five, just depends on the conditions.
It shouldn't be too expensive, between $20-$35USD/ft.

Thanks for the reply! I dont really care about the cultivar..just wanted to know if a 4 ribbed one means its a rare cultivar or just a (kind of) growth. Anyway, I dont have any Bridgesii in my collection and I really want one.

Thats nice looking Bridgesii. I think you will be happy with cuttings from that plant.
Personally I dont worry about rib count all that much. It changes as the plant grows. Its common for a cactus to have different rib counts on different columns or sections of column. I had a 4 ribbed Bridgesii that stayed 4 ribs for years, but eventually added a 5th rib. Its cool to see when its in that 4 ribbed stage, but usually as the plant grows larger it will add a rib or 2.

Four ribs... Traditionally these were thought to have very special healing powers in lieu with the magical link associated with the the number4 and the "Four Winds" and "Four Directions" The symmetery also is thought to be representive of "The cosmic link " the shaman travels between the different worlds thru vision and trance...
Although as has already been stated it may change as it grows older..a lovely cactus nonetheless ...great for anyones collection.

I read in another post that four ribs are more potent. I'll see if I can find it...

Grey fox elaborated on four ribs speculation in this post: https://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/26843945

Dont pay too much attention to rib count. These cacti add and drop ribs all the time as they grow. Different sections of the same column often have different number of ribs. Bridgesii is the strongest Tricho, and it is the most likely to have 4 ribs, so that might have something to do with the legend of 4 ribbed San Pedros being the strongest. IMO getting a fat cutting from a large cactus is a lot more important than the number of ribs. Big, old cactus plants are the strongest.

yes it active but when you spake about plants they're just two ways to know how much they're active, the fist id making an lab analysis the second is try the plant. no 4 ribs bridgesii is not rare, but the cactus in the pics look nice
