Are These Jars Contaminated?

I think this might be on the wrong thread so I do apologize, I couldn't find a "contam" thread.
However the one side of these jars look okay but the other sides look all bulky-like mycelium, bacteria?

Yeah those first 3 look especially bad. Either bacteria or the BRF mix was really wet or something there and that’s affecting the myc but I’d lean towards bacteria cuz I’ve seen what’s in spore syringes on agar lol.
22 views ain’t a lot though. There are 170 “guests” and 27 web crawlers on the site right now checking shit out as well. It’s possible I’m the first real person to see this post

Thank you for the response. Feel free to check out my other currently active posts and comment. By the way there are only 3 jars, the pictures just show one side and then the other.

I agree with RC. They look pretty bacterial to me. They will probably bring up some fruits if they don't get caught up by the green mold first. Just go ahead and spawn it!

Is it safe to use the jars and consume fruits from a bacterial spawn?

Ohh ya. As long as the mushrooms themselves aren’t gross looking or squishy I keep them no matter what’s happening on the sub.
I’d definitely only fruit these as cakes though I wouldn’t try spawning them to coir or anything.

By any chance were these jars laid on their sides during your sterilization process? Or while you left them to colonize? I've seen a very similar growth pattern and appearance in my jars before due to excess water, but it was mostly towards the bottom of the jar since gravity pulled the water down there and formed kind of a brown rice goo. They colonized and fruited just fine.

Not to my knowledge. However, there is a possibility that excess water did get into it so maybe this is the issue?

I’ve had plenty of trich’d out subs in my time, the mushrooms are still fine except usually the ones closest to the mold that start going squishy and getting that sad look about them.

I didn't know this. Everytime I've seen a post with trich in it I see people saying toss it. Not only because of the potential sickness I would imagine you could get it it has any in it at all but also because if there's trich then there are trich spores everywhere. I wouldn't want that sitting around in my house lol

Trich spores are everywhere in the world already but it is true you don’t wanna let it sporulate all over your grow area and give you tons of spores. It depends when the trich shows up. If it’s before pinning I’ll toss it but if it’s mid flush I’ll usually let it go.
You can cut out the spot with trich just so it’s not giving you spores or cover it in salt is something I’ve seen. Again it depends on when. If I think I’ll have it for a few days still I may consider those things but often it’s showed up when pins are half grown and only need another day or two. In that case I just leave it alone and don’t mist it or open it up until I’m ready to harvest and I just yank all the good mush out and toss the sub.

Yeah I could see keeping it a day or 2 after it showed up just to get the fruit to mature and finish the flush. If you cut it off are you going to be able to get another flush out of it?

if you got pins and fruits on trich tubs, you can take them outside
I've succesfully treated small trich outbreaks with toothpaste, to slow it down while the pinset and the fruits finish out on my porch, where the sporulation doesnt matter
reason people say toss it alot is cuz they wanna stress the importance of not leaving sporulating contams inside your grow area
the strength of this response has been "historically" fed by trich bein the "mean green", striking fear into mushrooms growers cause trich is something that completely kills grows and projects, unlike bacteria, which usually allow fruiting to occur
over the years accumulating and settling on a "get it out" policy
but the idea is to get clean spawn, not save halfassed projects for minor yields

I wouldn't follow his advice on the toothpaste, but definitely would do a bed outside if possible. But if you grow in an apartment, as soon as you see Trich it's better to toss the whole project and start fresh again. TCs say it all the time for a reason. There's no reason to try to excuse bad technique. That's the only way to get better grows, not by making up mold.

Yeah, anytime I have seen trich I've tossed it. Even had to toss a shoebox of PE's mid 2nd flush because I just wasn't risking it.
