Makes sense.  When people accuse me of bad things, I always make sure to prove them right.  There is no other option, really

IF YOU WALK 2 BLOCKS FROM THE CAPITOL ALL THE SIDEWALKS ARE COVERED WITH MYSTERIOUS STAINS AND HUMAN WASTE

CA used to lock up non violent drug offenders that piss and shit in the street . But they had a serious prison overcrowding problem so they stopped on 2014 ,
Which do you prefer? Drug addicts in prison or on the sidewalks ?  Never heard the word Twacked before .

YES CALIFORNIA IS EXPENSIVE TO LIVE IN, BUT ITS ONLY BECAUSE THERE IS SO MUCH RED TAPE ON BUILDING HOUSING, MANY PEOPLE JUST DON'T BOTHER.

That’s not true , they build track homes like crazy here . I spent 3 years working on them , the pace is insane And they all cost a mil or more .
CA is very cRowded , allot of people have money there is no cheap land to build cheap houses on .
It’s that simple , too much competition. There’s no red tape conspiracy , building codes are strict because we have bad earthquakes .

I tried to buy a house back when the COVID thing first hit , I thought that would reduce competition and maybe I could get it below asking but no , the 900k house I wanted still sold above asking . Too many people with money in Cali .

It's far more complex than that in the minds of the newest Trump supporters, but if you have to reduce it that in order to justify your worldview, color me surprised. /sarcasm

Are really suggesting simply saying mean things to trump supporters will cause other people to be offended and vote for Trump ?  That doesn’t sound logical at all .

No. The left says mean things to fence sitters and people with nuanced opinions and then they BECOME Trump supporters simply because they don't want anything to do with the political party that completely misjudged them as a person. I will point you back to Ballsalsa's initial reply to me in the terrorist thread. I never said I was a right winger. I'm not a right winger. You've seen my political compass test and others know it now, too... yet Ballsalsa not only called me right-wing, but a, "far right extremist" and also inadvertently insulted me simply for my opinion rather than discussing the idea. This happens ALL THE TIME with people that aren't really on the left or right. The far-left doesn't tolerate anything that isn't far-left. It's all extreme to them. (It's sad, really.)

This ironically makes them the extreme ones.

When this happens enough times and comes primarily from only one political party and not the other, people (naturally) get fed up and it suggests to them that the ideology that the left has adopted is CREATING this kind of visceral response to even fence sitters, and then those fence sitters want nothing to do with it.

Most are actually shocked to find that MAGA hats treat them more like human beings than the party that CLAIMS the more altruistic platform.

So basically, people like Ballsalsa, Koods and Capsicum Chinense have all helped Trump win 2020.

I’ll be totally honest that sounds fucking crazy .
The reason people are so mean is because allot of not most of trump supporters claims aren’t grounded in reality . Look at the the op in this thread , complete ignorance and false assertions about California .

You're only proving my point by saying this. There's a whole slew of Americans that prefer to be more moral than this and don't want to be apart of an ideology that justifies being mean to someone else because of their ideas, EVEN if they think those ideas are wrong. Typically, when you give power to people who are already mean to others because of their ideas, they become fascist dictators.

Hence the irony of Antifa and similar ideologies being called fascists.

Being mean isn’t part of any political ideology that I’m aware of . I’m mean because I’m a prick and I don’t give a fuck about how people feel about it .
The right has never been nice to the left .

I think leftists think about people on the right being bigots 100 times more than people on the right are actually bigots.

I have a lot of conservative friends, some of them gay, some of them black, some of them women. I've never heard anyone I know insult a Jew. Ever. (Except Ben Shapiro of course. Even people who like the guy make fun of him.)

I think the fringe that is being represented on social media is messing with the actual picture of conservatives. And remember, I say that not being one. They're just SO MUCH nicer to people who want to challenge their ideas.

EDIT: I will add of course that this didn't used to be the case. The conservative party USED to be the party of fundamentalist zealotry that was just as quick to accuse their opposition of evil, but instead of "racist/bigot/sexist" it was, "servants of satan" or, "satan has him." In the late 2000's I was very comfortable on the left, away from the last few years that bullshit had any real power in our nation.

Different pile of shit, same smell. Fortunately, modern day younger conservatives have mellowed the fuck out with pushing religion down others' throats and even many members of the older conservative generations as they get older are starting to get with the times and it's made all the difference for the party. (Also, atheist conservatism and "spiritual but not religious" conservatism is likely at a record high.)

NPR interviewed a bunch of trump supporters in Wisconsin today. A lot of them called trump immoral
And incompetent and won’t be voting for him again.

Trump has lost a lot more voters than he’s gained

Some good points.
A big part of it comes down to it being a cultural thing.
What is the difference between most east and west coast cities?

High rises and sky scrapers are much more common in the east coast, people are way more used to living crammed together.

I was talking to this guy that works down at the capitol recently.

He was saying the big problem with building those kind of structures here is people just arent accustomed to it.
It ends up turning into a legal battle with all the neighbors.

Thinking about it though, many of these people that are constantly getting locked up and end up in the few blocks around the county jail are seriously mentally ill.

If only we as a society had a way of dealing with the mentally ill without locking them up repeatedly.
