First time san pedro

Hey All,
I have 2 x 700mm cutting of san pedro and am going to cut them down to 300-350mm each and make up two doses.
I am just going to keep it simple as I do not have a blender and boil down only the green layer under the skin with keeping out as much white flesh as possible.
I just wanted to see if I should boil down both in the one pot or use a pot for each dose?

Use one pot for both, this will homogenize the doses. One cutting can be more potent than the other, so if you use two pots the doses might end up differently strong.
You don't have to peel off the waxy skin nor leave the white flesh out. There are still alkaloids in the white flesh. Most is in the green, but why throw away the goodies from the white? Just chop the cactus into small pieces and boil it for several hours (5 to 7 hours should be enough). You will filter out any plantmaterial in the end anyway, so you are left with a liquid only.
Split this liquid into two equal parts and you have two identical doses.
Enjoy and have fun. 35cm should be a nice medium trip, if the cuttings are potent.

Thanks! oh right, just from what I have been reading it is the white flesh what will make you sick? that is why I was wanting to remove this for the first time. So no problem to leave the skin and spines on then? That will save some time.

Despine, take out the core, cut in stars, and put the stars in a blender, then pour the contents of the blender into a pot with some boiling water.
Have fun!

No, it's the mescaline that makes you sick, not the white flesh. Even pure mescaline makes some people puke.
Take you dose not all at once, but drink the tea slowly over the course of half an hour to an hour. This will most likely prevent everybody from puking.

I cannot agree more with what you said, Mescaline can give you nausea no matter what. plus I advice the guy to buy a blander, the best tools if you want to save time in the San Pedro juice prep

I also thought a blender is a must, but after many trials I found blended cactus brews to be an annoying mess when it comes to filtering.
Better only chop the cactus into small chunks of half an inch or so (1.5cm), these are way easier to filter out, as you only need a coarse metal colander to get the chunks out. When brewing for several hours there is no need to blend the cactus. Chunks are totally fine, you will get all the mescaline out by boiling.

Yes I have all day and night to do this and jobs around the home in between, so time is no issue.
Would you recommend using a metal colander over a cotton shirt?

A cotton shirt is also good. Maybe use a colander first, then go on with a (wet!) shirt.

removing the skin helps with the nausea. The only thing you want for getting the most mescaline out of the san pedro is the dark inner skin that sits right behind the waxy outter skin layer. Dont even use the middle white shit, it does nothing good for you.

I do used both, yes the blander juice it's a bit tricky but it fast the whole process so I use it, but it's just a personal preference

Thanks for the help.
So I ended up with 2 x 300mm lengths with 1 x diameter at 116mm and one at 105mm.
Went a bit shorter as some of the teks I have been reading are only around 70mm diameter.
