Morphine sucks!  Opioids suck!  A waste of existence getting on the nod. Pure poison and nothing more to it.

Please for those dabbling around with opioids do yourself a favor, go be a good son or daughter to your mother and father, grandma, grandpa, heck, anyone other then waste your time nodding off on a drug anywhere.

Doesn’t help with an orgasm, doesn’t help athletic performance, doesn’t help to drive a car, ride a bicycle, heck, even flying a kite couldn’t be much fun.

For you liking poppy seed tea, get some ketamine and help yourself to better living.  Follow the magic in the medicine.

Get away from opioids.

Dabbling with opiates doesn't inherently = a junky nodding away his life.

I've grown poppies the past few years and I plan on doing so every spring for the rest of my life.

Having some poppy tea during the spring & summer is a nice treat. I don't turn into a junky all of a sudden because I had a cup of poppy tea.

I don't ever nod on the stuff. It doesn't have any sort of detrimental impact on my life at all. I'm still an active person even when buzzing on poppy tea, going on bike rides, going on hikes, going backpacking, going out dancing.

I actually do find that poppy tea gives me a bit of a physical boost in energy and increase in stamina...I can go & go & go & go while buzzing on poppy tea. For me, poppy tea is great for getting shit done. The variety I grew last year was quite energetic & stimulating.

From the handful of times I've dabbled with ketamine I find it to be pretty boring and lackluster. Ketamine is a totally different drug than opiates so I don't understand the comparison/suggestion about ketamine...Also, ketamine doesn’t help with an orgasm, doesn’t help athletic performance, doesn’t help to drive a car, or ride a bicycle.

With that said tho...When I do have pods on hand during the spring & summer I don't drink the stuff every day. I thoroughly enjoy opiates but I know what it is that I'm dabbling with so I keep my intake in moderation. I've dabbled with opiate/opioids occasionally for over 10 years now and I've never become hooked or used regularly.

I understand the warnings in this thread tho....Dabbling with opiates is a slippery slope to be standing on and if one doesn't know how to practice extreme moderation then it won't be long before they lose their footing.

i tend to agree, limited use is possible. i also used them occasionally for years (once every other month or year), but decided it drains too much energy and stamina in the days following use, which is why i haven't felt the need to do it again for the last couple of years. this was especially pronounced with poppy pod tea, i threw away the last bunch i had (this was back in 2010). i prefer codeine cough syrup for that matter, but even that gives me similar hangover effects for several days after, which is why i'm not really interested in opiates anymore. my daily cannabis use drains enough energy already and weed consumption goes through the roof when i'm on opiates, followed by a sore throat and an even higher weed tolerance. unappealing

kratom has been the best opioid ime, it's also a powerful aphrodisiac, while real opiates completely undermine my libido...

Openmind is correct.  And this is coming from an ex "opiate junkie" if thats the disparaging phrase we wish to use.  I used for years and fucked up so much of my life, classic junkie style.  But that was two years ago or so, and I know not to use them ever again like that.  I have a lb of pods underneath my bed just waiting to make into opium when ready for the next years festival season and have had them there for months and there is zero desire to take them nor any resistance I face not doing them.  Sometimes I even forget they are there.

It's quite easy actually to use pods responsibly, but you either need to have crossed over the line and come back, or have never gotten close enough to the line.  Growing them is better as you are more restrained, ordering them online is a bit of a cheap trick.

And yeah, poppy tea is amazing for many things - sleep issues, pain, energy, stamina, just taking a mental day off.  It's wonderful stuff, but one must respect it deeply or be prepared to pay the price, and that is what makes it not for everyone.

I was once basically an alcoholic but I can still have a few drinks these days and stop after 2 beers something that would have once been unthinkable. But... that said maybe I wasn't a real alcoholic in that for myself alcohol was never really something I loved, or even liked to be honest (some people really do just love it in a way I never could) and I never degenerated to the point of full-on -shaking if I quit- addiction. I was more of a 'couldn't stop once I started and drink into oblivion' alcoholic!

But let's be honest almost every junkie who ever once was a junkie, at some point believed he had a system worked out, but inevitably was undone by belief in that very system...

With addiction success often paves the way towards failure, as the success in quitting something difficult, leads addicts to believe that as they have triumphed once, they can do so quite easily again in the future, and they therefore start using again because why not? They now have a proven system!

After drinking and with no trace of irony I remember once advising my friend how I had quit smoking all the while with a cigarette hanging out of my mouth!

You may have zero desire to do opiates/poppies now, like I myself have zero desire to smoke tobacco but that isn't any great feat of self-control on my part, but the fact that the nicotine is now fully out of my system. It's also why I will never, ever, ever, for as long as I live, pick up another cigarette because once that nicotine gets into my system, or that opium gets back into yours, I strongly expect you/we'll be back to square one.

I would advise you to chuck those pods under your bed away. Is it not kind of telling that you haven't done so already buddy?

Still don't mean to preach, and it's not really my business I know, but I would be very careful that you don't end up kidding yourself. You claim you have no desire to use them, in the same sentence that you also say you plan to use them next year!
