Are you happy with your countries food guide

I got curious and was looking at Canadas food guide, it showed half your plate with vegetables, a quarter meat, and a quarter whole grains, I dont think you should be eating a quarter plate of whole grains with every meal, but I feel like a few years ago the vegetables and whole grains were switched around so its an improvement
also something that caught my eye was it wants you to eat low saturated fat, low salt and low sugar, Ive seen some evidence that saturated fat and salt get a way worse wrap then they deserve and you can eat more of those things then they say, and at least they are recognizing sugar is bad though, I eat way too much sugar when I fall off the wagon and it shows in my health
they suggest to make snacks, nuts, fruit, carrots or hard-boiled eggs, I think those are pretty good suggestions, I was especially happy to see them promoting eating more eggs, I feel like eggs also get a bad rap
I also like that they say "notice when you are hungry and when you are full" I think a lot of people will eat just cause the clock says its time to eat and not because they are actually hungry, I also need to work on stop eating when im full, I can eat way too much in a sitting, I find waiting 10 minutes between food items helps me notice when im full, but I'll tell you, waiting a whole 10 minutes between food items on your plate feels like a fucking eternity
anything that bugs you about your food guide, anything you like?

i dont really give a fuck about foods. you guys in america are verbally diarrheing everything known to man on diets end this shit but in my book if you can get pure clean water and booze, then you should be cooking only one meal per weak and throwing it in the fridge. whole chicken, hamburgers, mashed potatoes and then throw your mash potatoes in the pan to make some patoto pancakes yo
clean water is all you need man. Peaple used to not have anything else than grain when they hand dug 50 feet mines.
Clean water is the only worthwhile ingredients to booze and diet. period

I was reading one of your other threads and going to ask this question but got sidetracked. What's the purpose of adding salt to your drinking water? Also, what kind of salt do you use?

I started adding sodium and potassium to my water when Im fasting because when you are not getting in electrolytes in your diet you start to feel like shit, but I read The Salt Fix by Dr. James DiNicolantonio and he suggests in the book that the optimal sodium range is 3000mg-6000mg a day, so I started supplementing some salt even when im not fasting, also if you drink coffee (or on a diuretic) you need more salt, DiNicolatonio says if you drink 4 cups of coffee a day you will waste about a teaspoon of salt (~2000mg), if you are on a low carb diet you will also waste salt, thats why some people get the "keto flu", I think one of the mechanisms is that insulin causes your kidneys to reabsorb sodium, also if you sweat you lose salt, an hour of exercise you can lose up to a teaspoon of salt depending on the temperature and how hard you are exercising

Makes sense, I only ask because I am a roofer; I drink coffee or energy drinks in the morning, a few gatorades on the roof (average 10 hour days) and then beer after. I am teying to make so.e changes to my diet and lifestyle as I literally always feel like shit. I can not be sweating in 90+ degrees, drink a gatorade, sweat profusely for 20 minutes and then nothing.
I experience some crazy cramps in my legs at night sometimes. Looking for some ways to stay more hydrated without all the sugars.
How much salt per liter of water? What kind of salt? Im going to guess some sea salt or pink Himalayan?

oh yeah I forgot to mention what salt, I use pink Himalayan salt, another good one is Redmond Real salt, you want salt from ancient sea, it will have trace minerals like sea salt but no microplastics or pollutants that can make it into modern sea salts
I make whats called Snake Juice, the offical recipe is
2 litres water
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon potassium chloride
1/2 teaspoon magnesium sulphate (optional)
but I sub out the bakingsoda, I use a full teaspoon of salt
1 teaspoon baking soda has about the same sodium as 1/2 teaspoon salt

I just used 2 packs of bacon to cook 3lbs of collards and 2lbs of blackeyed peas. Most of the grease went in the collards. Most of the meat went in the beans. I'm also going to fry up some braunschweiger and leeks. That'll probably be about 2/3 of my diet this week. Most of the rest of it will probably be tomato sandwiches and turkey breast.

It started out as a fast as long as you can diet, then too many people were doing long ass fasts like 30 days or more, and went right back to eating like shit
so then it became do consistent 72 hour fasts, refeed and hop right back into a 72, he said that would build discipline and become part of your lifestyle
now since the gyms closed and he couldnt lift weights everyday, he started doing like 16 hours of cardio every day, and now he says fasting all the time will tank your metabolism and to fast way less often and never sit, keep moving all day and eat like the calories you burned moving all day, he is currently eating 5000 calories a day to maintain his weight from walking and biking and punching bag and skipping rope he does all day
I still follow his old advice, cause im way to lazy to do more then an hour of walking every day

I havnt been home for a week so I havnt for a week, but I just recently started, my arms are way different strengths though, I just have light 8 pound weights and they are the perfect weight for my left hand, but way too light for my right hand, so really im just building strength in one hand atm
