After reading a few threads on cloning from dried mushrooms, I decided to give it a try. These pieces were taken from the base of the stem of a mushroom dried in my dehydrator, and placed on 1/3 strength agar six days ago. 66% success rate.

They had been dried for two weeks.
The smaller of the two just grew that overnight. The bigger of the two looked like that two days ago, so I have hope.

I'm not sure you're going to win but it's a cool project. What temp were they dried at and how long did they dry for?

I accidentally transferred to a shallow plate a few weeks ago and it dried out to the point where i had to scrape the colony up like it was a dried solution.

I had a 2 year old plate of something special in my fridge, and I made transfers from it the same night. I haven’t seen any growth, through the agar wasn’t totally dried out and the myc was still white-off white.
I’m really bored waiting for spores to take on my other plates.

Atleast cling wrap doesnt dry out Hey verum, how do you cut your cling wrap so it doesn't tear when you unroll it? Every time i wrap a plate it breaks halfway through the wrap and i need to start over

I cut mine with my buck skinning knife. I keep it sharp enough to shave with, and it makes a clean cut every time.
