Should you be drinking tap water?
    #26909756 - 08/31/20 01:15 PM (3 years, 4 months ago)

I kinda suspect tap water shouldnt be drank, I put salt in my water, and at home I am on a well, I can put the salt in my well water and have no problems, but at my gf's house she is on city water and when I put the salt in the city water it taste funny and makes me sick, so I bring a few litres of well water when I go to her house for my salt water, or if I run out I buy spring water from the grocery store down the street from her for my salt

I still drink the city water plain, it dosnt make me sick when I drink it plain, only when I add the salt, but it makes me wonder what the difference is, does the salt react with the various chemicals they add to city water, like flouride, chlorine or rust inhibitors or whatever

I dont really trust tap water, I think the less of it I drink the better

yeah thanks ive been posting this shit around myself im well water. so./..

all you need to to is to dechlorify it thats all. People around the world are learning to metabolise that shit which is a major disrespect to earth.

if you can de-salinate water, then you positively de-chlorified it as well.

So boilling water and condensating the vapors into a pure water stream will allow you to supress the ill effects of treated water. Water treating is bullshit and urged from the era of when we were supposedly going to the moon right around the baby boom and settlement of the super world powers. The golden days essentially when you watched mel gibson and dressed up for movie theater releases.

Now we live in the k-pop epiphilosophic flying bible of doom era w/ weird mall sub cultures that wear spandex and fly toys around

So anyways, youll need to find some research on that shit so you and your girlfriend can share the benefits of consciousness

You probably shouldn't be drinking salt water all the time, OP. That's your problem.

Rather than adding stuff to my water I went the other way and installed a cartridge filter system with a tap in my kitchen. Wish I'd done it many years before. Best $250 I spent in ages. Very clean water  is priceless.

I used to use one of those bottles before I ponied up for a proper system. Work pretty good. A lot of people install taps here because the water run off for the drinking water comes from rainforest. Sounds great, and generally is, until there's a big rain until it washes all the animal crap into the water catchment and it gets contaminated with giardia. :puke:

Nobody is monitoring how much fluoride is going into the tap water. I don't like tap water. If I drink a lot of it, I start to feel sick and get a headache.

Different type of expensive methods to filtration.
Otherwise you can always just purge by vapor condensation. dont necessarily need well water. You only need a gallon water per household per day any way so... for these expensive filters, youre looking to spend upwards of 2 grand$$$

for royal treatment :trustme:

-Water softeners
-Iron and sulfur filters
-Turbidity filters
-Ultraviolet light sterilizers
-Reverse osmosis
-Annual ultraviolet bulb / reverse osmosis filter replacement service

Premium Whole House Water Filtration System removes chemicals, such as chloramines, chlorine, THM’s, volatile industrial chemicals, lead, and all other heavy metals from your household water supply providing safe clean water for you & your family.

A lot of these sort of filters end up delivering a demineralized and sterile output. That's not good to drink, you're not a laboratory. How much filtering you need to do depends on your local water conditions. For most people in the first world a single stage cartridge filter with a carbon inner is enough. Removes added chemicals and large bacteria. I use a 2 cartridge filter as one is to remove natural silt, tannins and unpalatable organic things, then the carbon filter.

Sure if I had lead or something in my water I'd pay big bucks for a deluxe filter and then remineralize. But that's not a situation most find themselves in.

i get salty beers by putting heinz tomato juice in it

BEST FUCKIN SHIT EVER that stuff if fully ripe before it goes in the can

put vodka in it and your ass is MINERALIZED

id say minerals are silly when you consider the plethoric amounts of crap that is in there. If you guys believe mineralize is real, then youd better believe something as small as your dick that its in the water can make kids autistic for the first time in history.

my search results
Featured a snippet from the web:

When filtering water, charcoal carbon filters are most effective at removing chlorine, particles such as sediment, volatile organic compounds (VOCs), taste and odor. They are not effective at removing minerals, salts, and dissolved inorganic substances.

they prolly have that shit at home depot

All I care about is getting the chlorine and stuff out. We had to switch to city water from well because it fell in. I don’t drink out of the tap much but when I do I’d like it to not taste like shit.

I'm in Aus so what I get here is no doubt different to the brands available there. I don't know the brand to be honest, not stored in my brain. The under-sink filter canisters and tap set are pretty cheap, not really the important part. Though it does pay to get a half decent one with the common filter size and install it properly.

The filter cartridges themselves are the important bit and I pay a bit more from and buy from a local supplier. The carbon filter costs about $80 and the organic ceramic filter about $50. They last about 3 years with 5 people using it. But you can tweak the cost and filter requirements to suit your local water supply profile. There's loads of filter types with varying quality to choose from. I spoke to someone who knows what they are talking about and selling a range of filters to get the advice on what I needed. Made sure I asked plenty of questions.

I only drink the NF water from my labs Milli-Q system.  I also for some reason suffer hypokalemia, hyponatremia, and a bunch of other mineral deficiencies.  Weird.

Sodium Fluoride: LD50 [oral, rat]; 52 mg/kg
Concentration in fluoride treated drinking water 0.7 milligrams/liter (mg/L).

So all things being equal, to die from drinking fluorinated water for a 70kg human would need @ 3,640 mg, or more than 3.6g, which with a concentration of 0.7mg/L one would need to drink 5,200 liters of fluorinated water.  There is more though, you would need to drink this water all at once (I think fluorine is the least of your problems at this point) because the body can absorb, metabolize and excrete fluoride.  Mostly it replaces hydroxyls in tooth enamel and bones, turning enamel from hydroxy-apatite to fluoro-apatite which is multiple factors more resistant to acid.

This is one of the first things I install in a new house. If you have well water and don't have an RO you could be drinking arsenic and other heavy metals or other contams.

For those shopping for one you want a drinking water system that runs the RO'd water through an active carbon and mineral cartridge for taste.

I would even put an RO system in a home with city water too. Life is too short to be drinking garbage

My city draws water from a well thousands of years old. Our drinking water might as well be bottled as mineral water.

Fluoridation of drinking water is illegal in our country, another lack of Freedom we rejoice about.

I always wanted one of those fridges that dispense ice cubes and water. Man those were always the freshest glasses of water. You knew someone was upper middle class with one of those bad boys. Be hard to have a bad life when you can drink a delicious glass of water whenever you want.

It's not a front dispense with ice, it's that weird one with a little spout and a small gray button inside the fridge.

You should do some quick searches about why drinking distilled water on a regular basis isn't that great of an idea.

Not to mention distilled water tastes "harsh" as it removes minerals from your  cells.

I have researched for years. Send some links if you want. It only removes inorganic minerals from cells. You get organic minerals from the natural foods you eat. I have been drinking distilled for years .   Everyone wants to think its the devil.

That isn't true, because you get enough minerals for your body from food you eat. Minerals contained in drinking water are not an important nutritional source of your body's minerals.
With that said, I drink those 4 gal bottles of purified spring water, with an analysis that shows no detectable chlorine or fluoride. I don't drink much tap water because they chlorinate it and fluoridate it. I do use tap water for tea or coffee out of convenience.

its not that you get minerals from the water, its that the distilled water steals minerals from your body and you piss them out

Ah, but the water does not run through your blood vessels in a pure state! It is absorbed from your GI tract, and then combined in perfect harmony with your blood and all your blood's mineral components. Your cells see only balanced blood, no matter the mineral content of your drinking water.

I do distilled water fasts. A lot of people do too. If you have a balanced food program of natural foods then you will be fine. You will only piss out inorganic minerals which your body does not assimilate. You are getting rid of minerals that are not suppose to be in the body in the first place .

Tap water is not good to drink in my opinion. Its filled with all sorts of metals and minerals, plus fluoride that the government puts in for teeth-preservation or whatever.

I never drink tap water unless theres no choice. I have a Brita water filter pitcher in my fridge, i can still kinda taste the tap water harshness but its still so much better than drinking it straight from the tap.

Ever tasted Artesian water? That is my favorite. So much better than Tap. Its like commercial Acid compared to Family/Magic Acid. Or commercial cubes vs homegrown/naturalistic cubes.
