Pholiotina-cyanopus?
    #26909077 - 08/31/20 05:03 AM (3 years, 4 months ago)

Greetings all,

I'm new to mushrooms, never tried them. I'm here only for micro dosing purposes and hopefully some can help confirming if these mushrooms are suitable

So, I've found a bunch of these and i'm wondering if they are worth spending my time on. I've done quite a bit of googling and research to identify these but i'm totally new so maybe some of you can help confirming if they are ok to consume and I'm also very interested if anyone has had experience with them?

To me the ones I picked and the ones in the official description look exactly the same:
https://www.shroomery.org/12461/Pholiotina-cyanopus

These are from a wet northern climate and I found them in short grassy lawn kind of environment.

In the field they look orange brown and they are tiny, very hard to spot. After a while on a piece of paper in dry area the cap turns white-ish.

I read somewhere here on shroomery a while ago that Pholiotina-cyanopus can be mistaken with a deadly Galerina type. Is this true or a concern with regards to the ones in the photos(If you can tell)?

Here is an interesting read about Pholiotina-cyanopus if anyone is interested in further reading.

Definitely not P. cyanopus, they have more whitish stems and will show blue bruising at the base.

These might either be a Galerina species, or perhaps Conocybe. I'm leaning towards Galerina.

Yea, definitely not Pholiotina cyanopus. I've been observing that species for six years now.

Here is my most recent thread of Pholiotina cyanopus for comparison.
