Colonization/Fruiting

I am currently doing my second mono tub grow and I’m a bit unsure of when to start the fruiting process. I added my spawn to the substrate 10 days ago and I’m unsure as if my tub is fully colonized. I havnt seen a whole lot of new growth in the past 48 hours and I’m thinking that this is about as full as it is going to get. One thing that might have contributed to having a thin top layer is I only had a 1:10 ratio. Unfortunately only 1/4 of my spawn bags made it. Can I start fruiting? Or should I wait another week or so to consolidate. I’ll post some pictures. Any advice/observations is appreciated. I didn’t really log my last grow which I really regret. My last grow went absolutely perfect yielding about a whole pound on multiple flushes. I followed every step to a tee as I did last time. However, last time I used a 1:5 ratio, so hopefully this turns out

Does it smell like an old cellar when you stick your head inside? I'm not sure but that color looks way off don't mean to jinx you and pardon me if I'm wrong. Now is the waiting game, a squeeze or two from the water weapon wouldnt hurt

It does look a little less than stellar but both pics seem dark and hard to see for some reason.
As far as fruiting goes you can/should give tubs the same conditions right from spawning. No need of high co2 levels or anything as was once thought. For cubes anyway. So you can give em air.
I’ve been doing it this way ever since I started back and it seems to be the way. Knots in 10 days usually
Ah I can see better now inside. It looks okay except that patch dead center. It looks like something bad might pop up right there in 2 days but maybe it’s just not colonized yet

Yeah that spot in the center happened when I dabbed up some water pooling that dropped from the top of the tub. Hopefully that doesn’t cause an issue. Last time I fruited, I put a piece of crumpled up wax paper on top. Should I just skip that this time? Tbh all I do is just follow a recipe. I don’t really know all the science behind what’s going on in there.

In a tub I’d skip the wax paper, it seems like it would just trap stale air and prevent evaporation from the surface. I have heard of bubble wrap casings and stuff but I think the cubes grew in spite of those things, not because of them.
I know a little about what’s happening but mostly I’m just following a recipe as well. Cubes grow like weeds almost if you can just produce clean grain spawn.
