Got tired of waking up to tubs that had started dropping spore, my OCD made me sit there with a roll of paper towels cleaning every single cap. Sometimes I'd sleep in and just get a tub of black caps I'd throw out.
Noticed where the edge of my liner fell on a cap there was no spore so I took two sheets of saran wrap the dimensions of the flush poked the shit out of them with a work, wet em with a light misting and laid them over the unopened caps.
Woke up and the caps were wiiiide open but relatively spore free. It all got lifted up by the air current generated by the heat of the sub and got stuck to the saran wrap. Some of the caps on smaller fruits below the other big caps still got dusted but for the most part I'm happy with how this worked out.

Yea man process mush makes awesome gummies and tea. I can't remember how I forgot about this tc tub but it dropped spores everywhere, turning that cluster into process mush.

I always want to put stencils on caps and let a tub go when I see pics of them that black. Never had one go that far in person yet.

Plus if you don't have too many you can wash them under running water in your sink with your hands, the spores come right off. They get dehydrated anyways so the extra moisture doesn't matter.

Some people consider themselves craftsmen, and would rather throw something away than be known for having produced it. If that's your standard, and you're willing to pay the price to live it, then go for it.

I don't really see the point in being prideful about not letting spores drop. Seems wasteful to throw away mushrooms cause of em. If its that big a deal, source a sporeless culture. Those shrooms could have changed somebody's life. spores didn't change their effectiveness. its not like spores on shrooms makes them schwag shrooms or something. like, you just denied somebody a psychedelic experience because of your pride. not very shroomy.

I only like giving away nice clean mushrooms myself lol but I wouldn’t toss a bunch because of it.
Star you should check out PE6. So far all of mine have grown like regular, nicely potent cubes that don’t drop spores. These are all at the point where most cubes would be blackening.
I didn’t take pics but I forgot about a shoe box under my bed and it had first and second flush fruits all up in it when I found it and hardly and spores to be seen even with the first flush caps turned inside out.

You have a point. My point is, different standards on what doing it right looks like. I also don't think psychedelics are changing anyone's life. I think they're fun, and an interesting glimpse into how brain chemistry works to form your perceptions, but mushrooms never taught me anything.
I also find spores to taste disgusting, so if I did believe I was changing the world with mushrooms, I'd make sure I did it right, and never let them get disgusting-tasting. So to me, the argument of helping someone means you'd focus on quality even more, not less.

More jars have maggots. Has to be 1 or all of 4 things..
#1- flys laying eggs inbetween the ridges on my hepa filter #2- layed eggs on the wire screen in front of the filter. #3- a fly/gnat whatever got in 3 different LI jars right before I poured them. #4- I use crack plates (snack cups) for my agar . It could be possible a fly layed some eggs on my plates before I slurried and they just survived the blender blades. I have lots of flys and gnats where I’m at.

What a shame, you are dead wrong about it not changing lives. I do not have fun with mushrooms at all, they are strictly for introspection, they shatter the illusion of my own bullshit which is often painful; they also reveal the profound and infinite beauty of an otherwise dark existence. Without these experiences I would have checked out years ago.

I have, in fact. But I've had far more epiphanies from just listening to good advice from people I respect and want to emulate. Mushrooms contain no inherent knowledge of what to do. They're useful, but I've also seen people who were deeply headfucked turn out even more deeply headfucked from shrooms so it isn't a valid treatment option if you're selling a bag of shrooms, with no actual idea how much and what actives are present and letting the person walk out the door with no idea how they plan to use them. You're just selling drugs.
I think a lot of people aren't comfortable admitting they're capitalists, and want instead to be doctors. If you're sitting with the person and guiding them towards a goal on their trip, sure, that's legit treatment. I bet most people here are not offering guided experiences with every gram that leaves their possession.
I also bet that very few people are in Pasty's shoes. Most just like to trip. When my wife needed cannabis for medicine, a member here, who is big and bearlike, sent me what she needed (a substantial amount) for free. That guy believes what he is doing is healing people.
If you're growing shrooms to give away to people who need them, my comments do not apply to you. If you believe they are medicine and are NOT giving them away, why not?

I got no issue with the idea that people can use shrooms recreationally as well as medicinally. I believe you can have both at the same time. I also have no real issue with the idea that people become entrepreneurs in the hobby, though I prefer to think of myself as an agorist as opposed to a capitalist.
