Another Flow hood build question thread

I am looking at this filter from Spycor. https://www.spycor.com/99-99-HEPA-Filter-Metal-Frame-24-x-18-x-5-7-8-p/maggb2418a6ax.htm
This is all I can find for spec sheets. https://www.glasfloss.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/11/10-QUA-MAGNAHEPA-2019.10c.pdf
I am thinking 18 inches high should be sufficient but I'm hoping to start using spawn bags and I'm unsure if I'm going to end up wishing I had a bigger area. Anyone have some input on the 18" vs. 24"?
I'm just starting to dive into this so if this filter will work then I'm sure I'll have more questions once I start matching the blower.

Does anyone have input on whether I should go with a 24x18 or 24x24? The 24x18 would fit my space better but I am considering going with spawn bags down the road and I don't know if I'll need the extra height of the 24x24.

If that's the case you'll be happy you got the full 24", this is one of those corners you shouldn't cut IMO. You can spend a little more for the better build, or you can spend the whole amount twice for another build after this one when you realize you've outgrown the old one. 🤘
Just my two cents, and you can of course get by with the 18" but especially with grain bags I think you'll be happier and feel better served with a 24" 🙊

Thanks for the response. Now I"m looking at 24x36.

I have an 18x24 and I wish it was a bit bigger, tbh. Working with bags is stifled. 18" is more for jars+agar.

You're building a big old honker. SO busy I haven't ordered yet. If I pick some filter would you check it out and maybe review it or help me pick the fan?
