Quebec designates several areas as red zones and forces all bars closed and all eateries to be carry out / delivery only again for a month. Its impossible for these places to plan for anything, a few weeks ago it was changed to reduced hours. You can't just open and close like that, these places are bleeding money, one guy just bought a bunch of patio heaters because everyone was told patio season would be extended, now he's closed again. I think when the world every goes back to normal there won't be much left of nightlife.

Maybe next time there is an anti mask rally maybe there will be some angry out of work locals to counter. Everything is not back to normal because of selfish idiots. People who had to have their giant weddings. People who saw everything closed as time for house parties. People knowing they are sick and walking around. This shit is never going to end because too many people are trash. Everywhere too, Canada, USA, UK, worldwide, trash.

And now the government is fighting it half assed, closing bars so it can seem like it's "doing something" meanwhile schools are open not based on risk, but because parents can't stay home to watch kids. Closing schools is politically very unpopular. But those places have always been virus incubators.

Shit's getting real again throughout Holland in all age categories. More hospitalizations, strong increase of ICU admissions Positive rests went from 2.5% last week to 7.4% this week.

Trumps aide Hope Hicks, who has been traveling with trump for the past few days on his trips was quarantined on Air Force one last night returning from Minnesota after showing signs of covid. She tested positive today. Reports are trump has been working in close contact with her. No masks. No social distancing. This seems like an extremely serious exposure.

Trump seems to be acknowledging the seriousness of the situation

He'll probably get treatments we mere mortals can only dream of, like having repeated complete blood volume replacement with blood of people with COVID antibodies.

Tbh I’m not sure how much better his prospects are just because he will get the best care. There’s not much they can do if things go bad. He seems to be slightly symptomatic, so there’s like a 20-25% chance he’ll need to be hospitalized. Things don’t usually go downhill until the second week, so we won’t really have a good idea of how this might unfold for a bit

Wisconsin has a really high per capita new case count. Probably the highest of any state aside from Arizona during the entire pandemic.

I'm hunkered down. I'm unemployed and plan to stay that way at least until march. This board, fb, my family and my roommate are about the only social activity I engage in.

Also, what are your thoughts on "homemade N95" masks made from hepa filter material?
