Nearly 1 in 28 people in my state has officially been diagnosed covid positive. Likely many more cases. Somehow your boy still aint gotten it despite many months of exposure. I guess something I am doing works. Probably the PPE. Maybe also the better than average nutrient status and physical health. Im starting to get worried though. None of my immediate loved ones has gotten it but I feel it coming... my girlfriend works in a daycare and Im just waiting for the call any day now...

The rehab hospital I'm starting rotations at in a couple months is now turning into a sub-acute covid recovery facility for the forseeable future. They're at capacity with covid heart attacks, strokes, lung damage, and getting tons of ICU/vent recovery patients. People coming in missing hair and torn up foreheads for being proned for so long, muscle wasting and neuropathies where they can't even sit up or lift a plastic fork. It's not just the old and sick either. It's one thing to read "Heart attack and stroke numbers are up" in the news, but to see the reality of it and the aftermath is a whole different animal.
It's a shitshow. Most of the staff there have avoided the virus so far, they wear surgical masks over n95's and face shields with gowns all day. PPE shortages are starting again though. The carnage is unreal, the nurse I was talking to was pretty much in tears just talking about it. There was a breakout right in the beginning and a few patients and one staff member died within a few days, they've been playing wack-a-mole with the virus ever since but now are going full covid-friendly.

Stay safe. It's important work you are doing and it says a lot about a person that will willing put themselves in harms way to help others.
I mean hell, you can't even get half the people to put on a mask to keep others safe...

Thanks man, ironically though I feel like I’ll be at a lower risk than your average office worker or retail clerk type job. We’ll be doing full hazmat suits with current positive patients and the n95/surgical mask/shield for everyone else.
I’ve stopped even trying to rationalize what goes on in the mind of the anti-masker/hamhead type. Rand Paul was just on Fox telling people to throw away their masks and celebrate if they’ve had covid. Hopefully the vaccines are successful and roll out soon, it really is tragic seeing so many lives completely destroyed, largely by carelessness and stupidity.

Trump had nothing to do with this vaccine. Pfizer refused to work with the trump administration .

My wife is entering the third trimester of pregnancy with our first child. The doctor told me she will be vulnerable to respiratory illnesses due to reduced lung capacity from her organs being pushed upward. He didn't even mention covid but we locked eyes and I knew what he was talking about. Honestly I'm very nervous about it. I'm going to have her quit her job and stay home 24/7. No shopping or anything for her. I'm going to ask my work if I can work remotely until the kid is born. I've only been hanging out with like 3 friends since it all started but I'm going to stop doing that for the next 3 months.
