I have long suspected it works sort of like a brown paper bag to help people slow breathing and recirculate co2, which drives deeper breathing, except obviously like a paper bag that is semipermeable. Ive noticed my respiratory rate with a mask is a bit lower and my breathing is deeper. It is easier for me to get a deep/full breath

The masks do trap warm air and humidity. A lot of people probably assume that because they trap heat and humidity, they trap air. A reasonable intuition. It isnt the case though. They may slow down the rate at which the air travels a bit, but the air passes through just fine.

Do you think you can avoid engaging in anxiety and rage without absolutely needing to exercise? To me, that sounds like dependency. You even use the phrase "tolerance is increasing". Yeah, I know all about "healthy addictions", but it's still being hooked. I suggest looking into what you are doing to fuel your stress and rage. It can be difficult work, and takes a lot of courage.
