Yes, the EMA gave it the green light, but it is still paused in a few countries like my own (Norway) until more research on the possible adverse blood clot/low platelets/bleeding reactions has been done. Time will tell.

I like to note that I had many shots but AstraZeneca was the only shot where I bled a bit from the puncture.

Maybe they hit a blood vessel and some of your shot ended up being IV. That is definitely not supposed to happen, and maybe why you had such a weird reaction to it

Possible, it did seem unusual. I was at another doctor due to an ulcer, he asked about the vaccination and when he heard of what happened he set aside an extra 5 minutes to methodically get an idea about what exactly happened. It was clear that he was looking into AstraZeneca personally, probably in regard to his more frail patients.
I would DEFINITELY take the second shot and if AZ gets cancelled even do 2 of Moderna or Pfizer if that was called for.
I had my misadventure but I STAND BY VACCINATION, not just for yourself bot moreover for society.

Bleeding a bit is not super unusual... probably one in 10 people I have vaccinated bled somewhat after the shot. One or two significantly enough that i had to use gauze and pressure for a while. It never correlates with who says they are on blood thinners though, seemingly just random.

Transmission is down to 0 on the geriatric floor of the hospital I work on since they started vaccinating end of Jan. It’s been at least 1-2 positives every other week throughout the pandemic... now closing in on 2 months without a single one. They’re all tested twice a week, anecdotally it seems like the shot is pretty damn good at stopping transmission as well

But it’s a fake vaccine. That’s what I saw on YouTube
I think it’s just magically disappearing by April like Trump said it would

If he got the mRNA vaccines and he's a young person, he probably already has pretty significant immunity. The bigger issue in my mind (and likely his) is that he is not unlikely to feel like dogshit that day.

I probably shouldnt say this, cause some people might run with it, but a friend of the family got a covid shot a week ago Friday, and was dead on Sunday, massive heart attack, but he was 75 years old and over weight, I asked my mom what shot he got, but she cant remember, when I asked if it was pfizer, moderna or astrazenica, she said she thinks it might be pfizer

Even in the worst case scenario- the vaccines are in fact causing occasional cases of fatal clots- they would still be worth using if you're doing an honest cost-benefit analysis. A lot of the people who die from COVID itself die from similar complications of blood clotting, and I highly suspect if there is a link between the vaccine and the clotting, that those in whom the vaccine precipitated it would be goners quickly upon contracting COVID itself.
It would be sad if true but shit, medicine has risks. You hear the pharmaceutical commercials- one of the side effects listed is often death. On balance, though, the majority of those meds lengthen lifespan.

dying of vaccine complications is like winning the mega millions grand prize.
dying of the disease it's preventing is more like winning the "match 1 number and the mega ball" prize. (or 2 and the mega ball, depending on how deadly said disease is.)
it's pretty obvious which odds you'd prefer.

The vaccine is not responsible for decades of arterial plaque buildup

never said it was, thats why I mentioned his age and that he was overweight, just thought it was another data point for this thread, considering the proximity between time of vaccine and death, just on the off chance more reports like this come in, I am still going to get the vaccine if it becomes available to me

I'm finally allowed to get vaccinated here so signing up for it this morning.
I'm in semi rural republican land so I'm guessing I'm be able to get it quickly as so many will not.
Started back to work running a bar and have been pretty happy with the guests using masks for the most part but it's also the highest priced place in the town so we have a little more educated clientele than the majority of the locals.
My husband is 67 and has gotten both shots, of Pfizer, he at the 24 hour mark of the 2nd shot felt pretty rough with aches and fatigue but within that only lasted a day.
So relieved he has his, that that a lot of anxiety.

I’ve had two, week long bouts of palpitations in the past six months I think is being caused by a hiatus hernia. They start suddenly, last for a week or so, and then vanish and are associated with eating and my stomach gurgling. The recent bout ended yesterday.
This is a thing now:
