left for 7 days with fruiting tubs unattended

record heatwave, frustration, and fruiting tubs.
left town for a week to beat the heat after seeing how poorly my tubs were doing, upon return some fruited moderately, others just shrunk and dried up.
my question is dunking worth a try at this point?
never dunked bulk prior, any opinions?

Yeah, I would pick all the fruits then dunk and fruit again. Might get a little something out of it.

sadly were not just talking 1 or two tubs...
I guess my question really is has anyone dunked tubs after extreme conditions?
never experienced shrinkage of substrate like this before

The shrinkage is likely due simply to evaporation. This should have left them bluish as the cell walls dried out, exposing the magic.
I always dunk my CVG subs after the first flush.
Can’t say I’ve ever been in your shoes exactly, but I see no harm in trying it. Carefully inspect for contams prior to dunking.
I let mine soak for more than 12 hours. No Submergence, just let my subs float as soak as much as they need.
If yours are especially dry/shrunken, a longer soak should be considered.
Play it all by your gut feeling.

I dunked for a few hours couple days ago, few fruits popping up. maybe they were salvageable.
