Hey everyone. I just have a semi-quick question. So I have completed my first PF Tek (worked out great, BTW!) and I'm using the Food Of The Gods in hopes to help treat my diagnosed treatment resistant major depressive disorder, social anxiety disorder and generalized anxiety disorder. I have read different variations of ways to microdose and I want to make sure I'm doing this right (or as "right" as I can), but I'm getting a lot of conflicting information I this regard. I've read that I should take 0.1g some places, 0.2g other places and other places I should take whatever amount that "makes you actually feel something and then go back down to where you don't feel anything and keep it there"... Whatever amount it is, I've also read different dosage regiments as well, like take it once every other day, two days taking it then two days not taking it and Once every three days... It gets a little frustrating b/c I don't really know what to do that would, hopefully, benefit me and my funky brain the most. I know that Microdosing has been around for a long time, but I don't know authors of any books (or videos, articles, scientific journals, etc.) that people/the "psychedelic community" trust/respect/use the most (Well, besides one, which is "The Psychedelic Explorer's Guide" By James Fadiman (I have not read it I've just heard about it)... So my question is this: What would you personally suggest I read, watch, listen to, smell, ANYTHING... that you believe contains the most helpful, trusted, in-depth, respected, (yadda-yadda-yadda) information in regards to microdosing as well as microdosing with Psilocybin to help treat my previously mentioned disorders I have and that am trying to remedy myself of. ANY AND ALL opinions and/or information will be greatly appreciated... Thanks in advance. Jam on.

What the hell has happened, here in my head, I don't want to die, yet I want to be dead? Fuck that, I ain't going out that easy-Parcheesi, I know who I was is still somewhere 'round here. I AM is not lost on me... Olly olly oxen free...

Hello Thinker and welcome. I would say that Fadiman’s book is probably the foundation of the microdosing trend. In fact, I would have to disagree with the idea that it has been around for a long time. In his book, he is basically saying that this is a new treatment that is gathering supporters and should be explored further and more scientifically.
Fadiman does discuss regimens and schedules. His is probably the most commonly known at one day on and two days off. (Not my preference.) The dosing advice that you found is actually pretty good. Start smaller than you think is necessary, slowly increase until you notice or begin to feel psychedelic effects and then back it off a bit. Everyone responds differently to most medications. And let’s face facts; as long as these substances are illegal, it is going to be difficult, if not impossible, to determine exact dosages from one source to the next. So we each have to do a little exploring to determine what works best for us. (I personally prefer three consecutive days on and four off, but your mileage will probably vary.)
I also found “How to Change Your Mind” by Michael Pollan to be extremely interesting and thought provoking. He does not go very in depth on microdosing in particular, but he does thoroughly explore the current theories about how psychedelics act on the mind and potentially treat disorders from a psychological perspective. The book also explores the turbulent history and modern resurgence in scientific exploration of these substances.
He shares a lot of first person information making the whole narrative quite palatable rather than reading like a history book or scientific white paper. But you do have to get through a lot of history before you get to the good modern science.
Microdosing is a new frontier and we are the explorers. Good luck on your quest.

this thread by mr. peabody is the best accumulated reference on the matter.
It touches on both common and uncommon microdosing materials and recipes, largely for PTSD and Depression, but also for addiction and 'other' mind challenges we face.
