How precise is that depth?

Do you have a current element that has holes (and can be repaired), or do you have a fan + plenum but no filter? Because unless you find a used element, it'll be about >$400 for a 2x4 element new.

global industries has a good price on a biomax hepa filter that size

I am actually buying one this week, I did some homework. Costs a little bit more after shipping than another good option I found from "Damn Filters", but Global Industries ships with truck freight not ups so it has a better chance of arriving unscathed and they have stock while damn filters has a 5-6 week lead time on a filter that size

Good Luck

What are you referring to as an element in a flow hood build? I'm confused.

https://www.spycor.com/99-97-HEPA-Filter-Wood-Frame-24-x-36-x-5-7-8-p/magpb2436a5a.htm

I used Spycor.com and I highly recommend them. The link I posted is only 99.97% efficiency 24x36x6 but they use glassfloss, they allow you to purchase 1 filter at a time va 3-4 from Koch. They have a phone number: 1-877-293-0784. Give them a phone call like I did, they got a filter for me that wasn’t posted on their website and I purchased it yesterday. Pretty much any filter can be made to what you want. The reason I like Spycor their customer support is amazing and their shipping costs are very good. Call them up and talk to them about what you are looking for, you want 24x48x6 and 99.99% efficiency. Stick with particle board it will save you a couple bucks vs galvanized steel unless you don’t have a spending limit. I’ll have mine in a couple weeks. Their customer service is great that’s all I can say and they can probably get you what you need. I would’ve suggested Koch but they completely shut off their phone systems so you CANT talk to a human and they never return phone calls from messages. The other option is https://damnfilters.com/collections/hepa-and-other-high-efficiency-filters/products/hepa-filter-24-x-48-x-6-1400-cfm-99-99-particle-board which is about $346 but keep in mind their shipping costs are extremely high, so expect $100 shipping so $446 for just the filter. You will also need a Dayton 1TDU2 which are hard to find now, another $336. You could go a little smaller and get https://damnfilters.com/collections/hepa-and-other-high-efficiency-filters/products/hepa-filter-24-x-36-x-6-1000-cfm-99-999-particle-board which is a 24x36x6 99.99% efficiency for $270ish but again $100 shipping. Try calling Spycor first it could save you hundreds of dollars.

Edit:
Contact Grainger for blowers, the Dayton 1TDU2 is a very strong blower motor, you need 800cfm with the 24x48 at .79wg and that blower pushes over 1000cfm so you could add a couple pre-filters which may get you where you need but they also have other options. Call Grainger themselves with information about your filter and they can get you setup perfectly with a blower motor at: 18002176872 again their customer service is amazing, you’ll need to talk to their technical advisors.
https://www.grainger.com/mobile/product/DAYTON-Blower-7AP77?breadcrumbCatId=3611 Is a perfect match without a prefilter, you could use a low MERV just to capture large particles which will bring you right around 100fpm or something like this https://www.grainger.com/mobile/product/DAYTON-1-2HP-115V-Double-Inlet-Forward-7HL57?breadcrumbCatId=8769 which with a good MERV 10-13 filter should put you right on par. I would call Grainger they’re the experts they can get you setup. They have even more powerful motors which you could go with a 12” depth filter as well.

Hate to double post but I contacted David at Spycor.com and he came up with this for you, galvanized steel 99.99% efficiency 24x48x6 hepa filter sold in pack 1. Here is the link, this may be you best deal you may find https://www.spycor.com/99-99-HEPA-Filter-Metal-Frame-24-x-48-x-5-7-8-p/maggb2448a6ax.htm. Shipping is a bit more expensive because of the size of the unit, $38.88 UPS GROUND. I guess what you should ask yourself is how deep are your pockets and do you really need that much space? Most people get away with 24x24. If this is a large scale operation. I could understand it but if your a hobbyist like me, get some smaller, the 24x18x6 is perfect for agar, g2g, agar to grain and etc. also super affordable and uses less plywood and smaller blowe.
